Useful Concierge Information

I'm staying at CL at AKL in June and Don, an IOP at ALK, has been absolutely fantastic. I actually feel bad for him because I've changed my ADR's around several times and asked for a few special requests like a Wishes Fireworks cruise and some gifts in the room. He has always emailed me back promptly and every request has been met. He's absolutely wonderful and I'm so thankful that he's helped me out!!
I can't wait to thank him in person in just a few weeks!

Don does not work in the lounge. He occasionally stops by the lounge, so you might get to see him then.

The AKL lobby is actually on the 3rd floor, so if they were one floor up on 4th flr CL then I could see why they might think they were on 2. Makes sense?

You could be right. However, the person mentioned a room number in the 2000's. But I agree with you, until that moment, I had heard that all of the conceirge rooms were on the fourth floor.

We just came back from our anniversary trip. We stayed CL at the WL, CR and AKL. If anyone has any questions I'll be happy to answer. We also stayed regular level at the YC>

What is so weird about your stay? We just did a 4 resort stay 2 weeks ago and it was great! 3 which were club level.
To answer your question I think it's up to the individual IPO person. Don from AKL which was our last stay offered to do all our adr's, but that's just Don. I would personally email all 3 CL resorts to make them all aware that you will be there. I would then make your requests separately to all 3 for the time being spent at each one.Wait..is your only CL stay at the PR? If so, you may have to make the rest of your stay on your own. That is the safe way to do it.

OK, we are doing a weird Disney trip,

December 16-18 Poly Concierge
December 19-22 Coronado Springs
December 23-27 Beach Club

We booked this on line, so I e-mailed The Poly to make sure all was well, and they confirmed it with the request sheet for ADR.

Will I just be able to make the ADR's thru them for the 3 nights we are at The Poly or all nights?

The 6th floor always only had a few rooms. they are located on both sides of the floor and there weren't many and they are DVC. The difference between those DVC units and the others is those have CL access.I counted last week when we were there~

AKL Concierge Lounge is still on the 6th floor. Where all the reg Concierge hotel rooms are, I don't know, the whole 6th floor is not DVC. We only have 5 2 bedroom villas, which can make 10 rooms total if they are separated.

Well that is a sign of the times because they USED to do all the ADRs for the duration of a guest's whole stay whether it was all concierge or not.

Not only that but I've had some wonderful concierge CMs make plans for us for a different trip where I wasn't staying club level. These trips were months apart too.

Right. There are three 2 BR lockoffs that face the Sunset Savannah and two 2 BRs lockoffs that face the pool. That's it for the 6th floor.

With regards to reservations for non concierge portions of a vacation, I've never asked the concierges to do that. However, I have asked them to email me a copy of my whole itinerary and they've always done that. I usually make all my dining reservations myself anyway but it's nice to get that confirmation that they're in the system.

Most concierge stays, they've printed out our entire itinerary at checkin including any portion that's not concierge. A little touch that I really appreciate.

Hello all! I am very new to these boards, have only wrote once, but have been reading them for a while now. My Fiance and I are honeymooning in Disney November 17-24th of this year. We are staying at the contemporary Concierge level. This may be a really silly question but, concierge is the same as club level right? My other question being if this is the case, i see people writing on these boards about how they received a welcome e-mail/letter. Does everyone staying on these floors receive one of these, because i did not. Thanks, and sorry if this is the wrong thread for this question, im just confused about a lot of things!

Yep, concierge is now called club level. If your reservation was made by a travel agent they may not know you are coming. Write them a letter telling them of your impending vacation and give them your reservation number, name, etc. I'm sure once you do that they will email you your welcome letter! I didn't see any. They did have small bottles of Perrier but I didn't see any regular bottled water.

I normally pick up a case of coke for the fridge when I am staying DVC. However, the last time I stayed Concierge at the Poly they had soda and water out all day and I was able to take one back to the room for later in the evening. Is this available at AK Club Level? Also, where can I find a list of what food/beverages are available at AK Club? I am sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it

You definitely could get cans of soda. The soda was out from sometime in the afternoon until 10 when the lounge shut down for the night. However, you could also get it earlier in the day by asking.

Also, tea & coffee were out all day (6:30 AM - 10 PM).

Let's see if I can remember the menu.

Breakfast:
- Juices (also out all day), milk, tea, coffee
- About 3 different dry cereals
- Oatmeal plus a warm african dish similar to oatmeal
- Bagels
- Danishes and croissants
- Fruit
- yogurt

Mornings after breakfast:
- I don't fully remember, but there were the same beverages as breakfast
- really good cookies kept warm
- plus probably some other stuff (sorry)

Tea (3-5 PM I think)
- Coffee, tea, juice, ice tea, soda
- scones
- brownies & rice krispie treats
- maybe something else ? - I only hit the tea once

Wine and Hors D'ouerves
-4 different South African wines (white, rose, shirza and merlot)
- 3 beers (Michelob, miller lite, tusker)
- Soda, Juice, Milk
- cold selection - same every day - 2 types of olives, morrocan carrots,
heart of palm, roasted peppers, uncrustables, flat breads with 3
different spreads available
- hot selection - changes each day - 1 soup plus 2 other dishes (things like ribs, meat balls, chicken wings, chicken on a stick, etc)

Dessert
- Dessert wines
- a selection of 3 desserts from Boma and/or Jiko
- plus brownies, cookies, and rice crispie treats
- I think that the beer and soda was still out

Thanks so much for the list. Hubby will be happy with the beer & I will be happy with the coke. (plus the desserts). I know it is probably silly that we got a one bedroom for the two of us, as staying concierge, I am sure I won't cook anything. If I want a light snack, I will eat a PB&J, one of my favorite meals. We have ressies for every night there. We are only doing one breakfast (the sunrise safari). I can't wait. Thanks again for the info

No bottles of water. If you ask for it they will tell you that you can use the cups to pour from the big bottle. Once I told him I needed bottled water in my room to take medicine with he gave me 3 bottles for my stay. at the WL and CR they gave me a big glass bottle to keep in my room with me. None of them had bottled water to take with you though. Told us to get it at the gift shop!

Good memory! The after breakfast stuff , the snack stuff also included: Mixed flavored nuts, banana chips, kettle chips and frunch punch I think it's called? Funny how the cookies left for the snack section of the day were so much better than the cookies out after dinner? Also you can get beer whenever you wanted by asking.
The club level cm's here did more than just sit like some of the other hotels. They rotated jobs: one day behind the desk, another picking up after guests and cleaning tables. I was told that this keeps them close~The atmosphere there was so much warmer and welcoming than at the WL where they closed the food off between courses! You could sit there all day reading, watching tv or just relaxing and not feel unwelcomed!

The sunrise safari was awesome! We had a great time plus the breakfast was excellent! On the one bedroom side, I can relate. I had a studio for my concierge trip but I will be having a 1 BR (not concierge) for my December solo trip.

You're right about the cookies. The ones out mid-morning were excellent. While the ones out during dessert just didn't seem as impressive.

So i just received my concierge e-mail, but i have a question. It says that it is from the Grand Floridian, but the e-mail says it is from the girl i spoke with from the contemporary. Are the e-mails sent out from the Grand Floridian? Or did i do something wrong?
