Useful Concierge Information

We are going to be staying concierge at AKV in January, does anyone have any pic's of the lounge to share please? especially the food offerings etc.

I took camnhan's post to mean it's booked 12/4 thru 12th (which I'm guessing is their vacation dates).

Oh that makes sense. I wasn't sure of the dates. camnhan, it's probably worth checking everyday once you are there to see if there is a cancellation.

In the past you could pay an additional fee and have access to concierge lounge and services, even if not staying in a concierge room. Can you still do that, and, if so, does anyone have any current pricing?

I don't remember ever reading that you can do that. Besides wouldn't that be un fair to the guests who are staying on the Club Level floors or buildings, because it means extra guests up in the lounge, when they might already be busy enough? I understand the paying for the extra $ to access the lounge and their services, but I have a feeling you can not do this.

Whether or not you are familiar with the practice, it has occurred and been discussed. If the search feature was currently working consistently I would go that route, but . . .

I assume that sometimes "concierge rooms" are out of service or otherwise vacant, which means that there is availability in the number of patrons that can be accommodated. Or perhaps concierge rooms are booked, but simply not at guest capacity.

I really don't think Disney is going to sell some unlimited number of accesses to concierge. It may even be that they no longer do this, but I was interested to know if someone knows if they do and the price.

This was something done years ago. I remember at the WL, you could upgrade and addon concierge privileges for around $25 per night. I think it was mainly due to the marked decrease in hotel guests following 9/11. Now that they operate at nearly full capacity year round, you no longer see it offered.

When we stayed at the AKL in Dec. 2002, I asked for a price to upgrade our savannah view room to the Concierge Level. At $120 a night, we decided against it.

I cant say enough good things about this. We will definitely be staying here again. I'm doing a trip report when I have time. Incredible, beautiful we had room 1517, the view was spectacular!

That's great to hear since my family and I are staying Club Level at the Poly next Saturday, so always nice to hear a positive review before we go. I was just curious did you stay in a Garden view or Lagoon view, because we have a reservation for a Garden view.

The lounge (and the rest of the resort) has the lighted garland. They also have the big (15' maybe?) tree near the window. Each suite in the Tonga building also has it's own tree.

And of course there is a Menorah in the lounge as well, at least for a few more nights

Does anyone know if there is a new email address for the AKL concierge? I keep getting "returned fatal error" and need to contact Don. I am using the address posted at the beginning of this forum, the same that Don has used to contact me. Any ideas?

Thanks so much. I sent my email. Let's hope for an answer. I have big anniversary trip coming up in May, staying at 4 resorts and I received an email from the CR concierge with ALL my reservations and adr's and it was all messed up. Don's part was great so I was hoping he can access the rest of them and send me an email. Is that too much to ask? Is there another way to get them all besides calling the regular (407) number?
