CR Resort Fan 4 Life - Thanks, I'm seriously considering the Contemporary for a future trip with friends :goodvibes

Unfortunately, after reading too many negative reviews of the YC CL, I have decided to change my booking and am now going to return to the BWI CL - I was there in December and loved it. I'm going to be spend more time at the resort for my next trip and I really don't want to encounter a bun fight for the food. I stayed YC CL in December 2006 and it used to get pretty crowded in the lounge (i.e. long lines for food) then, but from the reports I've been reading recently it seems to have got worse

Hi to all! Just booked yesterday for the beginning of May-10th thru 18th @ the POLY-LVC;we have stayed there twice before; But it's been a couple of years! I was wondering @ about what point should I hear from the IPO dept? Thanks to all in advance!

It's best that you should e-mail them yourself right away. Last month when my family and I stayed in a Poly LVC room the reservation was made in February 2007 and we did not get our welcome e-mail from them until August 2007. Now granted we did not need them to make any ADR's, I don't think you want to wait that long for them to contact you.

Has anyone stayed at BWI CL recently. I have emailed them twice, and no response. We are going Jan 29th for a week. Any thoughts about the food? We usually stay AKL CL and love it. Thanks, getting nervous I made a bad choice.

We just returned from staying at AKL, BWI and GF CL -- I can tell you that our experience at BWI was outstanding. The CM's that work in the lounge are the best! They made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful vacation. Our experience at AKL wasn't good. We had great service from all the other CM's in the hotel, just not the CL ones :confused3 .

The pre-planning department at AKL was a lot better than the BWI. They always responded to emails but AKL was a lot more personal in trying to help us. In fact they offered to do all of our vacation plans even though we were only with them for 2 of our 11 nights.

Just before leaving someone on these boards posted a new email for BWI: Boardwalk.Itinerary.Planning@Disneyworld.com I tried emailing it but got a response from the old address. Maybe they switched it over now.

Forgot to tell you about the food! I remember one night apps from Flying Fish, I think a seafood chowder and some kind of appetizers. Another night was Spoodles -- that was hummus and bread and couscous with beef. My son's most favorite was ESPN night when they brought in pork sandwiches. They had a nice selection of cheeses. Breakfast was pretty standard, I think same as AKL.

To all the folks going to WL CL...please posts your experiences here when you return....have a magical trip!!

Dis Ohana, do you have any food offerings for AKL? We're booked in there for Oct and it is our first time at CL level.

The breakfast was pretty standard -- there was bread to toast, bagels and cream cheese, jams and butter. There was fruit, coffee, tea and juices.
The snack mid-day was trail mix, assorted spiced nuts which we loved, and cookies. There was always juice, Evian water and soft drinks available.
The afternoon tea was great. I loved the scones served with butter and jam. The tea selection is the best, there was a wonderful selection of individual loose leaf teas. There were also cookies available.
The only night I made the evening offerings it was being served by Boma. I loved the assorted olive tray and hummus with breads. They also served ribs, the sauce was great, the meat not so much. Very tough and cold. I heard they also serve apps from Jiko, yummy!
At the end of the night there were little desserts. DH loved the Morocco bottled beer they had available too.

Have a wonderful time. The thing we loved most about AKL CL was doing the Sunrise Safari. Are you planning on booking it?

Thanks!! That all sounds so good yummmmmm, can't wait!

I've finally convinced dh to get up that early on vaca for the Sunrise Safari, it was a tough sell. I'm really looking forward to it even though we are NOT morning people, lol.

Now why am I being offered a later safari? My email said either 10 or 1?:confused3 But we are not AK concierge we are BWI concierge- so do we get offered different ones?
So you say do it?
I am tossing up the safari(for 6 of us it gets $$$) or La Nouba?

CL guests from other deluxe resorts are offered another safari option called the Wildlife Discover Excursion. This thread is old http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=982543 but there was good information about the tour.

We didn't do La Nouba so I don't know if that would be better. I'd think the two experiences are so different that it's hard to compare :confused3 . I felt the Sunrise Safari was probably the best thing I did on this trip. I loved it :cloud9: .

This is a description of the safari:

The Wildlife Discover Excursion takes the Kilimanjaro safari experience to the next level. Disney's Animal Kingdom invites you to venture off the beaten path of the Harambe Wildlife Reserve for a unique animal observation and photo excursion. Led by a seasoned Safari Guide and an Animal expert, this adventure takes you off the Safari trail, stopping at special observation and photo areas throughout the 110-acre savannah of the reserve. The tour takes place every day at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.. Guest meet at Mombassa Marketplace 15 minutes prior to the tour. It can accommodate up to 14 guests who must be age 3 and older. Payment is taken at time of booking. There is a 48 hour cancellation policy. Cost is $45.00 per person. You spend about an hour our on the trail slipping between ride vehicles of the Kilimanjaro Safari and stopping to view and photograph the animals. The vehicle is climate controlled. Guest may stand up in the vehicle (there are hand holds all over the vehicle). It is a great chance to get a different perspective on the Kilimanjaro Safari. You may take non concierge guests with you on this experience.

I haven't stayed at BWI CL yet but I do have a reservation for may1-5th. I have emailed them numerous times with changes and requests and have always gotten a response the same day! They have been extremely helpful so far. I cant wait for this trip! I don't know what email address you are using, but I have always sent mine to wdw.ybbw.concierge@disney.com

When I get a response from them it comes from Yacht.Beach.Club.Itinerary.Planning@disneyworld.com

Maybe you could try those.

Thanks so much dizzknee3- it worked! They emailed me back within a 30 minute timeframe. We leave on Jan. 28th for 8 days, I will let you know how it goes. We have only stayed at AKL CL so I am interested to see how this will be. I am relieved to finally have made contact.:)

Im so glad it worked out for you! Have a great trip and let us know how everything goes! I would love to hear about your stay when you get back.

Hello knowledgable DISers!
I read a lot of this thread, but not all. I am booked for a deluxe concierge room at the Beach Club this coming April and am hoping to get some information.
Has anyone stayed in the deluxe concierge room before? Is it indeed bigger than a regular concierge room (we're a family of 6)? I heard from the CM I spoke to that it is on a different floor than the lounge, but just an elevator away (whatever that means...)
This is our first stay at Disney ever and I'm just learning. I booked all my ADRs. Other than that, what do you get in contact with the IPO prior to your trip for? What kind of "goodies" (as someone in a prior post called them!) should I be requesting? I want to make sure we're utilizing them and getting our $ worth.
How is the BC Concierge? Food good? I keep reading that Disney coffee is on the bad side... do the concierge lounges serve different better coffee?
Anything I've read about the BC concierge has not been from someone who stayed there recently.
By chance anyone have pics?
Any experience/advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!

:tigger:
