Useful Concierge Information

Hi -

I'm staying at Poly Concierge from 12/11 - 12/16 - Where do we check in at Poly? What else do I need to know... HELP!!!

Thanks!!!
Margey

When you arrive at the resort, you should inform bell services that you are a concierge guest. They in turn will contact the concierge building and determine if your room is ready. If so, they will transport you and your luggage to the Hawaii building (assuming you are not in a suite). If the room is not ready, they will store your luggage and take you to the concierge building for check-in.

Check-in is handled in the Hawaii building (again, assuming you are not in a suite) UNLESS you are arriving before 7:00 a.m. or after 10:00 p.m. Enjoy your stay--the Polynesian concierge is our favorite!

BTW, I totally concur with the other posters. If you haven't made any ADRs or otherwise been contacted by the concierge service, e-mail them immediately with your ADR requests, etc. IF you have booked through a travel agent, that would be the reason you have not been personally contacted.

A question to anyone that may know! I am thinking about having some arrival baskets and flowers sent to our room, and have the info for the Disney floriest that supposedly will do this. Do I send the baskets to the Concierge to have them placed in my room, or should I let the concierge make the arrangements for delivery? Thankspirate:

I had ordered baskets from memoriesbybetsy....the baskets were waiting by the concierge desks when we checked in...I thought they would be in the room, however CM's from CL had little things for us placed in our room:)
It didnt matter to us...but if you want them in the room, just make it clear and I am sure they will do that.

When ordering from the Disney florist, the basket will be placed in your room without asking them. However, I usually ask them to deliver it the day after we arrive.

I finally just got my lagoon view concierge:cool1: :cool1: I had a lagoon view booked, but just got concierge:wizard:
Does anyone know if there are any lagoon view concierge rooms that don't require a lot of walking? I've had a few ankle surgeries this year and walking is tough!
I also wanted to know if there was a difference in the size of the concierge room vs. a standard room?
I am hoping to get a room with a daybed.
Has anyone been to BC concierge lately? I haven't been in a while. Any new info. would be great. I have most of my ADR's booked already. I usually do that myself anyway.
I am SOOOO excited:cheer2: :cheer2:

Samnbilly - I didn't think the walk was too cumbersome from our 2nd floor room but I don't have an injured ankle either. It's just 3 floors high. You can take the elevator down and the lounge entrance is right at the main level off from the elevator. You can request a first floor room, but I would think the 3rd floor rooms would give a nicer view. Just ask for a room near the elevator to shorten your walk. We had a decent lagoon view on the 2nd floor, but there isn't a balcony. You feel a little closed in. I didn't like not having a balcony. First floor have the patios/lanai, but some complain about them (lack of view, bird droppings, etc).

I'm very mixed about the Poly. They have a couple of stellar CMs there that some of the "regular" concierge visitors know. I had issues with IPO for our trip, large glitches. Some aggravation and quite a few apologies later it worked itself out. They're nice folks, but they're just buried. It's hard to give the level of service expected with so few people. Understaffing and not enough training must be the problem. :sad2:

My favorite is AKL, GF and Epcot resort IPOs are my favorite. :thumbsup2 BWI is my favorite Epcot resort. ;)

I apologize if this has been asked in this thread already, but it is too long for me to read all of the posts. The most recent posts state that the IPO hasn't contacted them until 3-4 months prior to their arrival. Is this unusual? It seems that in order to obtain ADR's at the more popular restaurants, the IPO would need your requests prior to the 180 mark.

The reason I am asking is because we have made reservations for club level about a month ago and have not heard anything from IPO, however, we are only at roughly 220 days out from our stay. Should I have heard something from them or if it gets closer to the 180 day mark do I need to contact them? If the majority of people get contacted when they make the reservation, I am thinking it might be my E-mail address because every time I call Disney it is wrong. They tell me they have changed it EVERYTIME, however, EVERYTIME I call, it is still wrong in the system. I am wondering if IPO has E-mailed me, but I have not received it? Maybe I should E-mail IPO and let them know my correct E-mail address, perhaps they could put the correct info into the computer? But if it is too early for them to contact me in the first place, I don't want to seem like a pest!!

Email them or call them. I made the first move back in July for our Oct/Nov trip. The IPO has been very helpful in acquiring reservations and some "goodies" for the hotel.

I would agree with your recommendationto McKelly to go ahead and call IPO. We did and it was great to be able to provide them our contact information (ensuring accuracy) and made us at peace with using this service.

Like others have suggested, just send them a quick e-mail introducing yourself. Include your reservation dates and full name to make it a little easier on them. I always made contact with them as soon as I secured my reservation. Most of the time I don't get a planner letter from IPO.

Hi,

Can anybody tell me if IPO will be happy to confirm all the ADR's and other bookings I have made.

We didn't use them to book them as we have changed our plans so many times but would like them to confirm the bookings I have made.

We have lots of ADR's, an Illuminations Cruise, a Spa Booking, Child Care etc all of which we made ourselves so not sure if they would follow them up for me.

Thanks

Yes, they should. I called to verify and provide additional information. I plan to confirm all reservations a few days before leaving. I found it easier to call, that way they can check any "requests" noted in the computer that don't show up on the Itinerary they send.

My DH was kind of tossing around (just the 2 of us) going to Disney this December for a few days. I put in my dates and only the BC is coming up for the concierge rooms. How is the BC club level? What type of offerings do they serve? Thanks for the info!

How much do all of you tip for the mousekeeping at the Poly concierge rooms? $5.00 a day sound like enough?

Good Morning,

Does anyone have any info on standard rooms for the club level--such as maybe room #s they stayed in or some pictures? I tried to jump around on this board but didnt see much for the WL regarding the club level rooms and pictures. I have stayed at the WL a few times (my all time favorite!!!!)but never concierge. Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

We are staying club level at WL. I made all of my own dining ressies except I couldn't get one for 1900 Park Fare for our family of 4. After 3 weeks of trying daily, I finally decided to let the conceirge staff help. After JUST calling the regular dining number and getting a NO for any time that day, I called the conceirge and got a 5 pm ressie for all 4 of us!!! I am soooo happy! This will be our last night at WDW after dd9 has her BBB appt in her Cindy dress. Perfect!!!
