Useful Concierge Information

I would imagine that 48 hours is fairly typical, however there are going to be times when that isn't possible. For example, a CM could be out sick or on vacation and they're operating short staffed. Possibly an influx of requests that they have had to prioritize. I don't know the nature of your questions or if they were time sensative. If it's just general information, I'd give them another day or two to followup with you.

I'm so glad I found this thread!! :yay: We'll be down there in Dec staying at the WL. I just e-mailed the IPO, so hopefully I'll hear back from them in a couple of days.

I just thought of something. Do you think it would be too much to ask for hot chocolate at night while watching the animals at AKL at night? Do they have it at the hotel or is the shop at Downtown Disney the best?

The club level lounges have a coffee machine that actually makes hot chocolate as well. I'm sure you can walk to the lounge, grab a cup and bring it back to your room. Otherwise, simply call room service and they'll be glad to deliver some.

OOO, thank you!

When are you going? We'll be there 12/7 thru 12/11. I have all my ADR's all ready. The IPO has been very helpful.

My DH is diabetic and both of us are doing the South Beach Diet, so I'm wondering if anyone has ever asked concierge if they could make some sugar-free snacks and/or desserts?

It sounds funny to say "sugar-free" and "desserts" in the same sentence, but you know what I mean. LOL

sigh...hey all! I'm anxiously awaiting my trip to the Poly conceirge...checking in on July 13...is it time to go yet?

Cheers,
Josh

While I have no personal experience in this area, I do know that others have made just such a request and it is not a problem. I would start with IPO and see if they are able to put you in touch with Chef Dick and the lounge crew, guessing that you are at the Polynesian. Dick is always willing to make special accommodations for his guests. If you are at another concierge level, I'm sure they will be just as happy to assist you.

Thanks Tess! :) I'll send an email out to IPO. We'll be at the Polynesian in just over 3 weeks. :sunny:

My son is a diabetic. When he stayed with his family at the BWI the cast made sure he had sugar free muffins in the morning and also special desserts in the evening. They were very accomodating

Thanks! I think I will ask about breakfast items too, that would be great to be able to have a sugar-free item available in the morning :)

Just wondering if I expected too much?
...Staying at WL...wanted to try another MK resort:) We were in CL , then moved to VWL, and back to CL...so after a few emails and such, no phone calls...I was just left disappointed with the lack of "personal touch" I felt within their emails:(
I shared some personal tidbits abt our history w/WDW..never a response, it felt like a generated email, like we were just another reservation # :(
So...I changed my res, used the new code and went to a courtyard view.
After reading so many positive things regarding how guests send gifts to their IPO"s and such...I assumed it was a different kind of correspondence than just a generated email.
I can see if our trip was months away, but its less than 2 mths at this point.
So no CL for us this trip.

I had the same feeling as you back in Feb. Before the trip, the emails were very 'professional' rather than 'personable'. Their replies were very prompt though. I don't really need them as much as other folks probably do as I handle most of my own ADRs and I don't have any special needs. I only ask them to assist if there's an ADR I just can't get on my own. When my mother and I would return from the parks, no one would say anything except maybe a 'Hi, How are ya'. I've heard of CMs actually remembering certain groups of folks and asking them how they liked the MK or whatever upon their return. This was NOT the case with me. I don't think the WL CMs really gave a frip where I went or whether I liked it or not. That said.....I'm returning in Oct for another week. This time with my DH and DD (CL newbies). I'm hoping for a little more personable CMs this time around. One more thing....there was one CM that I thought was really nice but I can't remember her name. I know she's been there awhile and I'm sure if I asked here at the DIS someone would be able to tell me who she was. I only ran into her twice (briefly) and both times she was very pleasant. Hoping I see her in Oct. What WAS her name............

:grouphug: I hope you have a MAGICAL vacation! Maybe you can take the $$ you saved and do something else really special. :thumbsup2 I'm sorry though that you didn't have any luck with IPO...(I did finally hear back yesterday). Glad you were able to use the new code and get a good room!!
Got any good ADR's? Going to book anything else now?

For thoes who have stayed cl and had packages sent to the hotel, do you address it to the hotel or to the cl?
Thanks!

Momof2DisneyKids..THanks:)

I hope you have a Magical time as well, I will live vicariously through your CL WL experience:) lol
ADR's have been made..Coral Reef, (thought DD14mths would enjoy that) Ohana (again) and California Grill..would like to try Artist Point though~

I received an email today, a general one...they stated "upon reviewing your reservation...etc....these services are only available to guests of CL etc.."
Certainly didnt help things...I wrote back stating I would never attempt to receive services I was not entitled to, and that at the writing of my last email I was still a CL guest!
Told them I was disappointed etc.....wonder if I will hear back.
Maybe they are just so busy they dont take the time to really READ these...and they have automated responses.
Anyway, we will still have a great time:)

DLBDS...hope you have better luck this time around:) Have fun:)

We'll be there 12/9 - 12/13. I got an e-mail from the IPO today. She was very helpful with switching some of my ADR's around.
