Momof2DisneyKids...

Every time I have gone CL (BC, BWI, & POLY) I have always had the IPO do pre-purchasing of goodies for me, my family, and our friends who come with us! They have been in the room upon our arrival.

We even met our IP team once, during our first BWI CL stay, as they were of such a great help, and we bonded over email, they planned to decorate the room right around the time of our arrival!:thumbsup2

Right now I have YC IPO and AKL IPO planning goddies for our arrival in a few days and in the Fall!

To me, that is what makes CL "worth it", making new friends who enjoy shopping for me to surprise my family! :)

At the POLY they set up and decorated a three foot Christmas Tree that I sent down before my DD's and my "Mommy & Little Sazzo Christmas 2005 Trip", decorated the room door, wrapped presents, and placed them under the tree! It and the room were ablaze in Christmas lights when Little Sazzo and I entered on our arrival evening before MVMCP! :cloud9: :santa:

If you can "Dream" it...they can do it!:cheer2:

so true
I got to meet IPO staff from the WL. Brandon met us there last year and checked us in. The room was full of gifts, Bunk beds and and MK view it was amazing. I will say it takes time to build the relationships with the IPO staff and they are not all the same. I have been dealing with Calvin at the GF and he has been great. He has done everything I have asked for and more. I have been very pleased with the level of service. I know that others like Tammi have also had amazing service from IPO over at YC/BC/BWI area.
I think the best part about staying concierge in the staffs and interactions you can have with the CMS. Lisa jack Gerianne and others from the WL and Jackie Robin Lorenzo and Pete for the BWI have all been amazing. I hope the nsite staff at the GF will be just as good next week.

thanks for the replies!

I'm still trying to decide what welcome gifts to get for the kids. I hope to someday be able to get there at Christmas-time, because I'd SO love the tree!!

I still am hearing from someone different from IPO almost every time I send an email, and they are ALL great, but I don't think that we're doing any 'bonding'. :rolleyes1 :teeth:

I am really hoping that the WL CM's will interact with my kids, who certainly can be chatty! :rotfl:

i am waiting for the ipo to tell me i have seats at bistro. lol those aren't available til 30 days before i arrive which will be sept 30. ipo also got me 2 tickets for the oct 4 and oct mnnshp :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I love the ipo they are very helpful:wizard:

I'm getting so excited, I can hardly stand it!!! :cool1: :yay:

Anyone arrange for gifts in the room? If so, what kinds of cool things did you have the IPO staff set up for you??

When we stayed at CR at Christmas we had them get us a really cute fiber optic Disney tree a Christmas Stitch and an Elizabeth Swan Minnie. The tree was set up near the TV and the other things were one on each bed.

When we stay at the Poly they have got us some cool pins for the kids :thumbsup2

Keep in mind that the IPO folks and the CM's at the WL are two separate groups of folks. You'll be able to "bond" in person at the hotel with the concierge folks.

We are staying at the GR SL for a couple nights in September. We are celebrating my parents 30th anniversary. Is it ok for me to email concierge and ask what sort of things they might be able to do even though the ressies aren't in my name? Do you think they might do anything for free since it is their anniversary?

Thanks!!

Dani

Anyone know what the hot dish has been in the evening recently? Thanks!

We just got back from WL last Saturday. We had a wonderful time.

While we were there, for soups they served Tomato Basil, Clam Chowder, Minestrone, Potato Bacon and Vegetable.

For hot dishes they served Cheesy Chili, Beef Tips with Rice, Chicken and Mashed Potatoes, Chicken and Mac and Cheese, Spring Rolls, and some sort of Sausage type dish.:)

If you're all staying together and your name is listed on the reservation, you can definitely touch base with them. Speaking from experience though, you may have better luck asking DIS'ers what they'd recommend for a special celebration. The CM's aren't always that helpful with suggestions. Even on the concierge level, there's no guarantee that anything will be done for free, so if you want to ensure it's recognized, you probably want to plan some things on your own. The Disney Florist does a beautiful job with their flower arrangements and you can call the GF and ask to speak with someone in private dining. They're the folks you want to talk to if you'd like an anniversary cake brought up to the room, or perhaps even a private dining affair for your group. That's a very nice option and there are a few select spots around the resort where they can set it all up. The nice part, is that it doesn't cost much more than a signature restaurant. A few things that concierge will do for you, is book a Wishes cruise if you like (you can add on some chocolate covered strawberries & champagne with private dining if you want). They can also book spa appointments for them, if you think a couples massage might be something they'd enjoy. There's a concierge safari ride that's available too that they can book for you.

Awesome! They seem to be offering a much better variety now. I was there back in Feb. for a week and, if memory serves, they only had 3-4 different hot dishes that entire time. Thanks!

thanks for this info! Do they have a set menu (by day) and if so, do you remember which days had what? :thanks:
Glad you had a great time!! :)

Hi everyone :wave2:

I haven't posted to this thread in a long time, but I'm really excited about our upcoming trip to the Polynesian at the end of July :sunny:

When we were there last, they had added the DVD players into the concierge rooms but we didn't bother to ask if they had any DVDs to borrow. Does anyone know if the Polynesian concierge loans out DVDs to the guests?

I don't think they had a set menu, at least not one that was posted.

Every night with the soup and hot entree, they always had a nice cheese platter, raw veggies and dip, crackers and bread, pbj uncrustables.

This may be in here somewhere but I haven't read through 120 pages (although I am trying).

Can anyone point me in the direction of the concierge Safari experience that is available to all concierge guests (not the sunrise safari at the AKL) We will be at WL in OCt.

Thanks

We never had occasion to take advantage of it, but I was told by the staff at Hawaii that they did have DVDs you can borrow. They were in the GCH somewhere.

Thanks, Cara and Leslie! :)

Sometimes late at night DH and I like to watch a movie. I'm not sure if we'll have a chance to watch one on this trip, but it's good to know they have some available.
