Hello, Tyler! Any news on the date for renovations at CR on the 14th floor? We will be there for New Year's Eve. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Tyler! Here is a picture (a little shaky) taken from Room 4911 on New Year's Eve, 2005. The percussion from the perimeter fireworks was so loud that all the car alarms in the parking lot below went off. :earseek: It was amazing!!!!

We added an extra person to our party so we had to up grade rooms. We are now staying in the club level of AKL. I have never stayed there before and I am not sure how to best utilize their services. I have already made ADR's and now have to add another person. Can anyone give me some insight on what they do and how soon I should contact them before our travel in October? We are celebrating graduation for 2 of the kids. And our other son is 4. My TA suggested I all and talk to someone as there were special things extended to those staying on the club level but she couldn't tell me what they were. Can anyone here help? Can they change my dinner reservations for me so I don't have to go thru that hassle? Ok enough questions for now. I am sure I will have more. I do know that my TA told me I got the last club level room at AKL and there weren't any for our dates at GF or Poly so I guess I am lucky in that aspect.

Piglet, here's the contact information for the pre-planning department at AKL, wdw.aklodge.concierge@disney.com T: 407-938-4755. Usually they would get in touch with you, but because you booked through a travel agent, they won't have your contact information. When you touch base with them, they'll transfer over all the ADR's that you made on your own. They can then make any changes or additions that you need. One of the special amenities that's offered only to concierge guests of the AKL, is the ability to book a very special sunrise or sunset safari. I believe there might be an age limit on the sunset safari, but the sunrise is open to anyone. It includes a private tour of the Kilimanjaro Safari, followed by a wonderful breakfast at Tusker House. The pre-planning department can also assist you with any gifts that you'd like to purchase for the graduates, or maybe just arrange for a cake in your room. I think the planning service is one of the best features of concierge, so definitely take advantage of their assistance and enjoy the pampering.

Waking up this thread for brauergirls! :coffee:

Hey BCV, I'm up and sipping on my Dunkin Donuts coffee :sunny: . Getting ready to head down and watch our little towns Memorial Day parade. Who are the Brauergirls and how can we help?

Hi, Tammi. I'm enjoying my tea and waiting for everyone else to wake up. Have fun at your parade. Ours isn't until Monday. BTW, do you think your sons competition will be televised next Spring. We have a skater from our town who was in the Olympics and even though we don't know him personally, it was so much fun to root for him. I'll be doing the same for your son, televised or not!

Anyway, brauergirls asked for advice on picking a club level. It is down just a bit on the page.

Enjoy the weekend! :sunny:

I contacted preplanning at AKL like suggested. OMG!!!!!! I spoke with Don who was a great help. He discoverd several things wrong with our reservation and is working to correct them. Plus he changed all of our ADR's for me. I called at 7 last night (central time - didn't realize it was closing time) by 730 I had an updated itinerary emailed to me to check for problems. While I was looking forward to this trip in October it wasn't going to be a true vacation because of all I was having to do. Now I feel like I am going to get a vacation :Pinkbounc because of all of the work Don is doing for me. I told DH that from here on out this is the only way to do Disney. :cheer2: Thanks for filling me on what Club Level was all about.

Piglet, you are in excellent hands. Don is the best and will take very good care of you.

BCV, unfortunately, the only televised events are usually at the senior level. They do have online webcast though and many of his events are listed there, http://www.mediazone.com/channel/figureskating/jsp/competitions.jsp. For the ones listed now, we'll be at the International Theatre on Ice competition, Lake Placid Ice Dancing Championships and Boston Open. Previous events were the New England Regionals and US Junior Championships. They're putting together their own website too, which is pretty exciting.

Hi PolyFish, not sure what you mean by this question. Can you clarify?

Do you mean at the Contemporary? I'm not sure if the two levels will be different now? Hopefully one of the CR experts will be along to help.

I'm glad the Don was able to help you. He did the same for us. There were several issues with our reservation, and I am afraid that if he had not discovered them, our stay would have gotten off to a rocky start. THey would have been addressed at checkin, but so much nicer to have them taken care of ahead of time.

I agree that it is worth the extra money to have the IPO take care of the planning. For us, the trip was our first on more years that I care to count, and I think that I would have been overwhelmed if I had not placed our requests in their very able hands.

Have a wonderful vacation!

wow what was wrong with your ressie?
I am staying poly CL I hope theres nothing wring with mine

It was something about the rooms. We had two rooms, one ressie, two names. Somehow when the ressie was processed it was mixed up, and that was understandable because of how it was placed. Don caught the error, and corrected it before it could have become a problem. It was not major, and would have been addressed upon checkin, but this was just one little thing that increased the value of the level of service we recieved. I would not worry about your ressies at the Poly.

I hope someone can be my calm voice of reason. We are staying Atrium Club at CR the week before Christmas. I contacted them by phone when I made the reservation earlier this year just to see if they had my name etc... I was told they would send out a packet for us to fill out as it came closer to our 180 day out time period. When should I expect this to arrive? I hate to bother someone because I am an excited idiot. ;) I would like to have some time to digest the park hours when they come out this week and figure out what to reqest for ADR's. I think our 180 day mark is 6/21. We aren't going to any of the very popular places that demdand being booked ASAP, but I do want to get our first choices if at all possible.

So, am I just getting worked up over nothing yet? When/should I be worried? Thanks in advance oh wise ones..... :sunny:

I was told that the packet is sent out around the 200 day mark. We will be arriving at the CR on the 19th. I went ahead and emailed them and asked if they could send it to me early, because I was getting so excited about it. I recieved an email back with the attachment. I have it filled out and ready to send back!!!! :sunny:

The packet we got from the YC, was basically just a questionnaire that we could fill in. You don't really need it. I've always just e-mailed them when I had an idea of when and where we wanted to eat, or what entertainment we'd like. They'll enter it into their booking system as a pending item and when the window opens, it will be guaranteed with a confirmation number. With the dining plan, you'd be surprised how many places would now be considered "popular". Plus, based on your dates, it sounds like you'll be there for the holiday. I wouldn't wait too long to put your requests in with the pre-planning staff.
