I think y'all are talking about YC or BC or some other resort- but isn't it weird that THEIR deluxe concierges sleep 6 but if you stay at GF the regular deluxe sleeps 5 and the deluxe concierge (which costs more ofcourse) only sleeps 4? And 5 is the LIMIT for GF... right?

Strange. You'd think the deluxe would be the larger ones that sleep 5.. and that they'd sleep 6 like whatever resort you are talking about, wouldn't you?

Fantasia2400 - I would recommend the deluxe concierge room for your situation. I have stayed at the garden suites and they are cute but not without some problems. The walk to the lounge isn't daunting but with 3 small kids in tow, I'd want to be right down the hall from the lounge. You leave your suite (as in go outside) and can either walk back to the main elevator lobby and take the elevator to the 4th floor and them walk back to the lounge which is actually right above the garden suites. So you basically backtrack outside. It took me and DH about 6-7 minutes. There is also a stairway halway between the garden suiutes and the main building that gets you closer to the lounge on 4th but it's 4 flights of stairs!

Another consideration is that the sleeper sofa is downstairs (main floor) with the TV, kitchenette, etc. where parents might want to hang out in the evening, and the master bedroom is upstairs. So is the tub. I'm not sure my kids (when they were 4 and 5) would want to be that removed from mom and dad when in strange place.

We also had some noise issues (the adjoining restaurant was powerwashing their vents starting at 1 a.m.) that kept us awake for 2 nights before we moved to another resort.

The BWI is a great resort and a wonderful location but I wouldn't recommend the garden suites for the money. Hope that helps.

Just an update for you....I have called back and changed my reservation to a Boardwalk Inn Delux Concierge Room.....also requesting as close to the lounge as posible. I am so thankful for you guys helping me make my decision as to what is best for our family. I am a bit dissappointed not to be able to stay at the garden suites but considering the walk factor and then the sleeping arrangements I am in a much better situation now.

Sincerely,
Melissa;)

Melissa - I think you will be much happier in a deluxe concierge room. Save the garden suites for a parents only trip some year! Have a great time!

Hey all. We're doing a split stay between AKL and POLY concierge in June. We originally were just going to do AKL but changed the last few nights because we wanted to try the POLY. I heard from the POLY IPO and was e-mailed a copy of their itinerary planner within 24 hours of making the reservations at the POLY. It was wonderful. However its been about 3 weeks and I haven't received anything from the AKL IPO yet. They answered my e-mail and sent me an attachment that described the safaris. They were very polite and professional but not as warm and welcoming as the POLY. Has anyone else had this experience. I'm wondering if its because the safari don't book until 90 days instead of 180 like the restaurants. Should I just fax them our requests or wait until I receive the planner. Thanks for your help.

I have had really good experiences with the AKL IPO our last stay there was in July and they got everything we wanted even at the last minute. I haven't stayed at the Polynesian in a year or two, but upon their suggestion made my own CRT reservations?? Everything else was wonderful as well. I would give them both all my information reguarding room requests and reservations nowand let them handle it as it comes up.

AKL IPO has been buried lately. It's taking a bit longer for them to get people. That's the problem with suggesting AKL - now everyone is flocking to it. :teeth: If you want, send a friendly note just to make sure they have your request for the hard to get ressies like cruises, CRT and safari all lined up. ADR's are usually pretty easy for them to knock out. They won't be irritated in the slightest, but it's taking 48 hours or so for them to respond back to my e-mails recently because of increased activity. They are gearing up for that spring break time now is what I gather. This is their "peak" season.

Thanks! That is the impression I got. That it was just a busier than average time for them. They are still professional and friendly. I just sent them a quick note about that we were interested in the sunrise safari. I have to say I am absolutely blown away by the Poly IPO. Their service has been over the top amazing. The ones I've received responses from (I believe one is Brandon?) are just wonderful, warm, and friendly.

Has anyone stayed 14th Floor Tower in the CR? Any information would be greatly appreciated. We haven't stayed in the CR since 1972 !!!

The Tower Club desk and lounge area has been remodeled, and is absolutly beautiful. However the rooms themselves will be the last in the tower to be remodeled.

dec 29 we had room 4914 for 3 days prior to our 1st cruise on the MAGIC, it was an unbelievable upgrade, room, view! the room itself was in very good condition, everything was very clean, not worn looking.

Wow, iluvmk, what incredible MAGIC to get 4914! Ooooohhh, I have "resort envy" :teeth:

Hi everyone - we will be staying LVC ay POLY in October. Couple of questions.
What is usually out in lounge for B-fast? Can I bring back to my room for the family or must everyone come out?

When we arrive do we go into lobby or tell someone we are staying concierge
as we unloead?

Does someone take luggage to room for us or is there a bellhop? If there is a bellhop, how much do we tip?

How much do we tip vallet the first day, and do we tip him before he drives away with car or wait for him to come back.

Does vallet unload car or bellhop?

Sorry I know, lots of questions new to this and I don't want to look like a chicken with my head cut off! :rotfl:

Is there any food in lounge between 9-10 when we get back from parks?
What is usually served?

We've stayed the last two Octobers at Poly LVC and had a wonderful time both times. I hope your stay will be just as enjoyable.

As far as your questions for food go I would suggest you check out the AllEars site. It's got tons of info and pics. The link for the concierge lounge food is:

http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_polyc0.htm

(Make sure you check out the concierge photo gallery! You can link to it from the page above!)

When you arrive a bellhop will come to your vehicle and all you need to do is tell him/her that you are a concierge guest. They will unload your luggage. If your room is ready they will take you and your luggage in a golf cart to the concierge building. If your room is not ready they will store your luggage for you and will still take you to the concierge building so that you can register.

I can't tell you a lot about valet parking because we like to self-park our vehicle. We like the convenience of being able to run out to the van to get something or of having access to it whenever we want without waiting on someone to go get it. Plus we like saving the $$$! ;)

Have fun with all your planning!!!

Anyone ever have luck with getting room before 4:00? Just wondering as we are arriving around 11:00 at Poly and I would love to get unpacked as soon as possible.

We arrived at the Poly around 11:30 a.m. (end of January) and our room was ready! :cool1: I think it is just a matter of luck.

In the past several years, I think we've only not been able to check in early to our room once.

I would say early check in would be dependent on your check in day.

We always check in on a Thursday or Friday.

I'd venture to say checking in on a Saturday or Sunday makes it a little harder, since most of the hotels are booked on Friday and Saturday nights, so people are in those rooms.

Made a reservation on 2/6/06. I recieved an email from BC concierge team today, with a form for me to fill out for itinerary planning :cheer2: . I think they are very prompt!
