I love concierge :cloud9: They just emailed me our itinerary with our PSs :cool1: So how will I possibly go back to non-concierge after such great service ????? :)

I think we all warned you this might happen ;) . Seriously though, you just need to look at every vacation separately. Due to time restraints or park touring plans, sometimes it just doesn't make sense to go concierge. When that happens, you just have something to look forward to for your next Disney trip.

I'm splitting my stay between CR 14th floor and AKL CL, can anyone recommend room requests or opinions of their stay? We stayed last year at Poly CL and we weren't impressed by the CL (sorry IMO). I would stay at the Poly again though but I want to try other CL's. Thanks!

hi dis!

can you ship boxes down to the conceriege to have in your room? we are debating on staying at the boardwalk garden suites for our wdw wedding this march & wanted to ship down some wedding boxes (welcome bags, candles, snacks, etc) to have in our room/waiting rather than fly with them. does anyone know what the limit for items is? we have 10 boxes.

Joliesmom - I LOVED the AKL CL. The IPO staff were terrific & the CM's in the lounge were personable. We're doing the same split as you this year also. I'm also having a good experience with BWI IPO and can't wait to visit that lounge in just a week and a half. I've not visited the CR 14th floor, but I've heard mostly good things about it. Remember, there are only 16 rooms and suites on that floor so they tend to give you very personal attention on that level. Sorry the Poly didn't live up to your expectations. I've seen mixed reviews - so it's all in what you like and what you expect. Hopefully, this stay will turn things around for you and you'll find a new "home."

twojo21 - Yes, you can ship boxes down to concierge to have items put in your room prior to your arrival. I'd send IPO an e-mail and let them know how many you tend to ship...10 boxes of goodies - WOW!

As VAgal76 said, yes you can ship things to concierge and have them waiting for you in your room. Read TammiMcMan's comments on page 16 about her Christmas trip at YC.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Can anyone answer this for me. Where do you check in for CR 14th floor? Should I let the valet know when I get there that we are concierge guests? I know at the Poly they take you over to the lounge to check in and at the WL we went upstairs and checked in. We are very confused as to what we should do. Also how soon should I contact IPO? We booked through DU so I know they don't have our info. Please help! :sunny:

I'm not completely positive about this, but I think you should tell valet you are staying concierge on the 14th floor upon arrival. I think I read on another post that some have checked in upstairs instead of the front desk. I'm hoping someone will chime in to make sure this is right. :flower:

When you arrive, tell the valet or bellman that you are staying on the 14th floor. (This also applies if you are staying on the 12th floor -- Tower Club.) They will either loan you a key for the elevator or walk you to the elevator and insert their key so you can access the buttons for the 12th or 14th floor.

If you are staying on either concierge level at CR, you check in on that floor, not at the lobby check-in desk. It is wonderful, because you can sit down while you check-in and even grab a soft drink or snack. My girls loved it when we stayed in the Tower Club last Nov. -- they got to sit at the table and watch the monorail while my wife and I got our keys, maps, checked PS, etc. It is a great way to start your Disney vacation!

Could someone please tell me where we would check in for the BWI. thanks :earsgirl:

At the Contemporary the 12th Floor is now called the "Atrium Club" and the 14th Floor is the "Tower Club"

Thanks Cris :) Do they take your luggage to the same hold area off the main lobby at check in?

The same check-in procedure would apply at BWI. Just let them know you are staying concierge upon arrival and they should take you up to the floor or someone meet you downstairs to take you up to check-in.

Kteacher - They do use the same holding area for luggage for all guests at the resort including concierge.

I would contact concierge as soon as possible. This lets them know you are coming. Some concierge (not sure if all do this) will send you a package of information, including a key card for the elevator.

If you plan on having concierge making your PS, let them know as soon as possible. They will load it into their computer, and at the 90 day mark, they will make the PS. This goes for Wishes and Illuminations cruises too.

i was wondering with the new Magical Express how check in will go... I know probably no one is back yet since it just started, but a review would be nice when ever you do get back.

Thanks.

PS --- tomorrow is the first day of my dining arrangements. I hope the concierge lives up to my expectations and can get us the times we want.

but for BWI you check in at the front desk! BUT...don't let that dishearten you, it is the most wonderful CL we have experienced at WDW! :earsgirl:

I can't imagine that Magical Express would make too much of a difference. For those resorts where you were met by a greeter upon arrival, you may now have to inform the bell captain to notify them for you. I imagine this would just take a few extra minutes.

Does the pre-planning department already have your list of priority seating requests? If so, then I think you should be in excellent hands. Other than some minor time adjustments, we have always been very lucky with getting what we asked for.

Check-in has changed at the BW. You now go directly up to the 4th floor to check in. You will checkin at the desk before you go through the key access doors.

Do I just let valet know I'm staying concierge and someone will take me up? At the AKL the guard at the booth calls ahead and someone meets us at the entrance to take us upstairs. :earsgirl:

KerryCM - where is the desk? Do you go up to the 4th floor on your own without going to the front desk first?
