We used both the Vacation Kingdom Lunch Vouchers and the Quick and Casual Vouchers last week and were very happy with them!

We saved a bunch of money and it was great to have so many meals prepaid. We are 2 adult women and shared most meals (and always had plenty to eat).

Places we used them:

Teppeyaki (Japan - EPCOT) - Vacation Kingdom Lunch Vouchers
LeCellier (Canada - EPCOT) - Vacation Kingdom Lunch Vouchers
Rainforest Cafe (Animal Kingdom) - Vacation Kingdom Lunch Vouchers
Pepper Market - Coronado Springs - Quick & Casual
Beaches & Cream - Beach Club Resort - Quick & Casual
Cosmic Ray's - Magic Kingdom - Quick & Casual
Food Court at Pop Century - Quick & Casual

The best value was at Teppenyaki and the Rainforest Cafe, but all were very good value. I will definately get them again! I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Can you tell me any problems or reactions when you said you where sharing a meal, mostly at Rainforest? What did you get to eat at Rainforest and how was it spilt.

We will be a party of 4, 2 adults and two 18yr olds. My DH eats small meals. I also have a Gift certicate for $25at the Rainforest I was just wondering if I got one voucher that would be enough.
Thanks

The reactions we got were positive everywhere we used the vouchers. The servers were helpful in telling us how to maximize their use.

At the Rainforest we ordered a crabcake appetizer, then ordered a full rack of ribs. we asked if we could "add on" a side of shrimp brochette (the menu offers a number of "add on" to your entree options. One was to add on 3 shrimp brochette.) The server wasn't sure if we could do that with a voucher so she asked her supervisor. When she came back we were going to tell her to add it on anyway and we'd pay the difference, but she said her supervisor told her how to do it and we were getting 6 shrimp instead of the 3 offered. For dessert we had the Chocolate Cake. We had one lemonade and then ordered a second beverage. The only thing we paid for was the 2nd beverage. It was great!!!

This was a large amount of food for two people, and would have comfortable fed three "normal" eaters. We calculated that the meal would have cost $73.14 (with tax and tip); We paid only $2.49 for the 2nd beverage (although we did leave the server an extra tip for all her help).

I am seeing stuffed lobster and crab legs on Rain forrest Cafe menu. According to the lunch voucher we can order ANY entree on the menu??? WOW is that true?

when we went to RFC. In my opinion, the coconut shrimp was MUCH better

We think so too..but the secret to getting more shrimp (we share the meal..and we get the stuffed lobster and steak, which I found out about here..I don't think it's on the menu..we always have to ask for it), is to order the stuffed lobster, and the steak (upgraded to primal steak) and ask them to substitute the coconut shrimp..you get a lot more that way! We actually subsitute their veggies (zuccini, etc) for garlic masked potatoes..hubby gets the beans and rice, I get the potatoes.

The only thing you can't order is the Volcano dessert, unless you are using two coupons.

I'll third that on the Primal steak & add of coconut shrimp (6!) vs the steak & lobster- SIL ordered S&L , neither she nor I was impressed with the "stuffed" lobster, very little lobster meat and lots of breading in the stuffed part. The Shrimp were great! and I ordered the chicken fingers as a appetizer for dd (8) for her meals.

We always get eleven - twelve shrimp..if you order the stuffed lobster and steak and then do a sub for the lobster, you get more. If we order the steak and shrimp, we only get 6. Since they don't care which you order..they still get paid..we go for the bigger portion, to share.

Hoping this will be seen here since not many appear to reply to the voucher post at the top of the page.....Sorry to interrupt your discussion, but.....

The vouchers on the website (Connections) list the kid's age as 3-9 but I thought Disney restaurants list kid's ages as 3-11. I will have an 11 yr old and would prefer kid's vouchers since he eats like a 7 yr old anyway! Which am I 'supposed' to order?

I am disappointed that Coral Reef is not a participating restaurant and a bit confused as to why not. It doesn't seem as though the food there is any more expensive than LeCellier or Rainforest Cafe.

Thanks for any answers or thoughts.

I don't think they check ID's on kids. They seem relaxed on thing so I wouldn't think they'd give you too much trouble. They are letting too adult share one voucher or an adult and child. Its not like you are having an adult use a child's voucher.
When I did girl scouts I had one girl that looked like she was 16 and she was only 10.

Sugardimples -- thanks for posting about your experience with the vouchers. We're leaving in 18 days and I just ordered a few of the Q&C, 1 VKL Adult & CH, and some breakfast ones to try out. My DH will be clueless when it comes to the vouchers BUT maybe his interest will peak after he eats at Rainforest w/vouchers.

Question for DMRick: Hmmmmm... that Steak and Coconut Shrimp sounds yummy and I think he would enjoy the steak part. Do you just ask for the "Stuffed Lobster and Primal Steak with a substitution for the Coc. Shrimp instead of Lobster?" I have a feeling we're gonna have way to much food with the 1 Adult and One child voucher. My 5 yr is not eating much these days so I guess if they make my 8 yr order off the kids menu it won't be such a bad thing. Either way it should be interesting...with dessert at the end! Thanks all! :wave2:

Yes, that's it. And then I ask for the garlic smashed potatoes instead of the veggies LOL.

When we went in September, we had 2 adult and 1 child vouchers for 3 adults and 2 children. The child was able to order off the adult menu. We had food coming out of our ears! Three appetizers, 3 desserts..oh my goodness!

AS you all seem to be Rainforest experts, I have a question. When should I go. Here are the options I have thought of...
1) Late lunch the day we go to AK... only thing is my DS picked Breakfastsourous as his charecter meal... so we might not feel like a huge meal. Maybe, but we are light eaters to start with.
2) Dinner the night we arrive in Orlando. We are staying offsite for the first night so no going in the parks. We could make it by 5pm. I was thinking we might want to do something more 'Mickey' involved that dinner for my 5 yo dd (who is really excited about going, and to a 5 yo Disney=Mickey)
3)Go back to AK for a second afternoon and do it that day. We have 8 park days so we should be able to squeeze it in. I am not sure if 1.5 days is over doing AK or not. We are a big animal loving family. My kids watch Animal Planet all the time. Another thought was to do Rainforst on our long day there and breakfast on a half day, get there early and then leave shortly after we eat for another park.So I guess that is option 3b.
4)It could also be our last Disney meal, we have 2 non park days at the back end of our trip... By the way is this a bad plan? I was thinking R&R after 8 park days, but do you think we will just wish we were in the parks? I could redo things to add all the non Disney days at the front end (but was thinking this might cause my youngest to have a breakdown)... back to Rainforest- is this Disney enough for a last meal?

So what do you think?
Some people have accussed me of over thinking this, but those people (around my house, not here of course) do not understand PS!

How about just eating for supper that day of the big breakfast? You can eat at the RF-AK and use the voushers for lunch or dinner...no need to show up during lunch times. Have a snack in between if anyone gets hungry.

Hi.

I realize the menu is the same, but has anyone had trouble using the lunch vouchers at hours later than the standard lunch period? That would make them a lot more flexible to sue if true.

Thanks for any guidance!

Yes we used the at 5:45pm, NO Problems whatso ever.
Just make sure you get PS's for anytime after 3:30pm- but especial around park closing times.

What time do the buses stop running to the resorts?

They run only 1 bus from AK to ALL the resorts until everyone has left Rainforest. In Oct, when we were there, the park closed at 5:00pm , I think we left RFC at 7:15 and there was 2 buses waiting for the resorts. We were told to board the first one and there was already 10-15 people on that bus (the 4 of us were the last to board). We were all going to different resorts, but I think were dropped off 3rd. The bus driver said that the other bus would wait until the RFC was empty before leaving..."so nobody would be left behind or forgotten"
