My hubby wants to use the babysitting service for our three under 7 to dine at Artist Point. We are staying at the Wilderness lodge so its just downstairs. We would just like a few hours while on our vacation to be alone....we've been twice in the past year and it would be nice to hang out without the kids for a couple of hours. However, b/c we have three its going to cost us something like $100 for 3 hours. The two older ones are old enough for the Cub's Den, but the 2 year old isn't and she WOULD NOT stay with someone w/o them. Advice please. I think its crazy to spend the money...I thought maybe we could do take out (sounds terrible, I know) and eat on the balcony when they go to sleep. Thoughts please.

With the 2 year old you would have to use one of the services that come into the resorts to babysit. None of the resort babysitting services will allow a 2 year old. I know kids nite out has a 4 hour minimum as that is who we are going to use. Here is a link to some more info. You might want to check on the minimum times.

We always splurge and have a Grown-up night. We have used kids nite out a few times and we've always been very happy. Sure it's expensive but, we feel our one "date" night is worth it. They ask the age of the kids when you call to reserve and bring a suitcase full of age appropriate toys. The kids are happy and so are we :)

When our DD was younger, we used Fairy Godmothers 5 or 6 times and it was great! Our sitter were very nice but very professional and always brought bags of toys with them. Our DD hardly noticed us leaving! It was great for us as we got to spend some alone time at WDW! Our DD is old enough for the kid clubs but I wouldn't hesitate using a sitter service again! Very much worth the money!

Leaving for WDW in 8 days! :moped:

We just used Kids Nite Out on 5/2 from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm. I can't say I was 100% comfortable leaving my DS(5) and DD(1). The sitter was from France and I knew my DS was having a hard time understanding her. Both kids are also in daycare and so we are used to a "group" situation. My DS probably would have been happier in the kids club, but obviously the baby was too small and I didn't want her to be with the sitter by herself. The sitter took them to the playground and the baby was asleep by 7:30. She did some coloring with DS and then he was asleep by 8:30. Basically I look at it as "all's well that ends well." My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at Le Cellier and walked around World Showcase. I was a little put off the next day, however, when I saw that the sitter had eaten a bunch of my son's snacks (we had fed both kids dinner before the sitter came, figuring that would be easier on her).
