Used Stair Lift

Does anyone know where one could buy a used stair lift? My mom can't afford a new one and her insurance won't help with the cost of one so, she'd thought she would try to find one used. Looking through the yellow pages, it seems that everyone only sells new lifts. Any tips or thoughts? Thanks.

The places I could think of would be the want ads and sometimes dealers that sell new items also have used ones for sale at times or might know someone who wants to sell a one (it may be someone who no longer needs theirs or traded in an older one for a newer one).

Try newspaper classifieds (also on-line versions) under medical equipment or even estate sales. But you'll have to find someone to install it properly --don't want it to come crashing down! You could also try letting the staff at a few local assisted living homes or nursing homes know that you're looking for one. They might keep it in mind if they hear of someone who won't be needing one anymore. A long shot, but word of mouth sometimes helps.
