Used Priceline for the 1st time & got Amerisuites Calypso Cay

Has anyone stayed here lately? How was it?

I'm kindof excited that I got a decent place for $35 (before taxes)/nt.

I found it very nice!!!

the only thing I didn't like was getting out - you have to turn right - then do a unturn to get to WDW or US/IOA or SW

Wow! I think that's probably a great win! Would you mind telling us how it was rated--3* or better ? I haven't seen that one show up at biddingfortravel.com., so I'm wondering if that is a new addition to the Orlando area list. Hope you enjoy your stay there, and when you get back please let us know how it was.

Hi Sweet Maxine---

This was under a 2 1/2 star property in the WDW area. I actually did 2 different bids...the 1st 1 for just 1 night (as I had no idea what I would get)...then after I found out where, I decided to do another booking for the last 3 nights (knew there was a chance that the hotel would be different). I lucked out and got the same hotel. I called the hotel and talked to them about staying in the same room - was told no problems. I will make sure when I check in.

So far my experience w/ Priceline is good.

I will definately post when I get back.

Wow! What a great bargain! We stayed at Calypso Cay and loved it there! The pool was wonderful for the kids and I especially liked have breakfast provided for free every morning. We found that eating early was best with plenty of seating. The later you eat, the longer the lines and it got pretty crowded in the small dining room.

Thanks for your reply about bidding. Just for some extra info, I found the gas to be much cheaper at the gas stations located at the entrance to Calypso Cay off of #535. I bought my gas there during my trip in September, even though I was staying off of Palm Parkway. When I was in the area (outlet mall, visit to Club Car rest.), I just filled up with gas then. There's an outlet mall located pretty close by, I just can't remember the name of it just now. There was a Gap and Old Navy store, and a Character Warehouse too. Hope that helps!

The mall near there is the Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlet Mall. We stayed near there last year. When did you do your bidding that you got the Americuites? We got the La Quinta last year, but would like to try the Amerisuites. We drove by and it looks quite nice. Pl seem to run in bunches, if one peson is getting a certain Property, there seems to be more.
