Used by date on meat

I just realized a pork roast I bought and had in my refrigerator to cook has a use or freeze date of today. It's a rosemary balsamic marinated roast so it's really hard to "smell" if it is spoiled. It was packed in one of those store vacuum seal bags.

Safe to eat or toss????????

I'd use it. The dates they put on those are CYA dates, not the date that it becomes an endangerment.

If you all get food poisoning, however, I will delete this post...

I'd say it is safe. Usually those are good for at least a couple of days past the sell by date.

If it says use by today, and you are going to use it by today, what is the issue?

I still use it. I'd still use it tomorrow even.

Seriously though the meat will be fine! As long as it has been refrigerated the way it should've been there's no problem.

UMMM if the use or freeze by date is today, then it should be fine. Either cook it or freeze it...whats the problem?
