Used an awesome National code for my April trip!

National is quoting at $250 drop fee for pickup at CCC and return at MCO. Is this common with all car rental companies?
$250 drop fee? That's insane! Most car rental companies now charge a drop fee (they never used to in FL :rolleyes2) but it's usually less than $250. Budget doesn't charge a drop fee so it's worth while to check them out for a "one way" rental.

Thanks. I have just check budget. The rate is pretty good. I think I'll go with that. I notice that National only charge the drop fee with the KLM code. The drop fee falls off when I tried the visa code. So looks like this KLM is only good for pick up and drop off at the same place :confused3

I didn't try that code, used the KLM code and the visa upgrade. I have a midsize for Nov 10-16 for $197.00. It was better then the $225.00 I had a few months ago.

With Budget and the Wendie code D454300 and E-Coupon MUGZ029 for $30 off you can get an intermediate SUV for $168 inc taxes and coupon which is applied when return vehicle.

Use the DIS code Y937800 for Budget pickup near WDW.

Interesting, I see I have a $129 outstanding balance from my July rental. I wonder how that works. I don't see any reference to the KLM code, so it looks like the price is without the code. Maybe that's just how they report it?

I hope not... I don't like thinking that will be on my record ANYWHERE! I am legit, I signed up for the mileage plan when I used the code just now. I dare them to let me have the discount and then leave it on my account... I am the sort that WOULD call and ask them to remove it/tell me exactly why it is there! :furious: You can deny me the code, but don't put a permanent record on me after the fact! :thumbsup2

i just check the website and i too am showing a balance. I just called and the agent said on his site it is showing the contracted rate and that it is paid in fulll no balance due :drive: He did however suggest checking the license number the ressi was made under and I couldn't do that right now because it's my dh's and he isn't home...so i will call back and update here.

Does anyone have any updates on getting the owed balance removed from their account? I have a ressie with this code, but I'm also reluctant to use it if it shows somewhere that I owe them money, even if the agent says I don't.

Thanks!

A friend used that rate in April and although he also had that "remaining charge" , they've never charged him. I think it's safe.

No one has posted about this in over a month. We leave in nine days and I don't want to run into any issues! :cool1:

I have used this code twice with no issues. We used it in March 12 and Aug 12. Yes, a balance still shows as due but I have never been charged or contacted about it. I have two more ressies set up with the code coming up. This is a legit code and I don't think anyone needs to worry about it.

Has anyone tried to have the balance due removed from their account? What happened?

Any update on this. We leave in 5 weeks. Using this code our price for a mini van is $463.00, The next closest is hotwire at $626.00.

I just got back from my WDW trip. I used the KLM code because I needed LDW. When I returned the car, I was given a receipt and my credit card was charged the amount I was expecting based on the KLM code. I had signed up for e-receipts so I received an email receipt, which showed what I paid, which was for the car rental fee, but also showed that I still owed about the same amount that I paid for the car rental, which was for the LDW, the SLI, and the various taxes that the KLM code is supposed to include.

I emailed them back and said that my code covers all of those fees that still show as being owed. I said that I wanted a new receipt that shows I have paid in full. I got a new receipt that has the total owed as the amount that I paid, and the total paid as the amount that I paid, and then a zero balance as a result. They basically just went back and zeroed out the LDW, SLI, and the other taxes.

I just got a Midsize car for $206.51 for March 4-11. :cool1:

Hoping I can get it cheaper, but for now this will do. Last time we rented a car, we paid just under $100. through Alamo. But that has been a couple years ago.

Thanks for this info! Very helpful. I appreciate it! Glad it worked out.
