Hi Everyone,
Is there anybody out there who has bought this year? if so what use year did you get? 206ish? I want to buy into DVC next year and I am just looking into it?

Thank you so much for your help!!

Hi Everyone,
What is the current use year that is going right now for new members? 2060ish? I would like to become a member next year? I am just looking up everything possible.

Thanks!!

I'm kind of afraid to post, because I want to say, "Excuse me, but I think you have your terminology wrong." But the last time I did that, the person really blew up at me.

"Use Year" means the month that you get your allocation of points each year. If you have a February Use Year, then you get your points on February 1 each year. If you have a March Use Year, then you get your points on March 1 each year.

Each of the DVC resorts has its own contract ending date. If you purchase the Villas at Grand Floridian, the contract end date is 01/31/2064. If you purchase Animal Kingdom Villas, the contract end date is 01/31/2057. It doesn't matter if you purchase AKV today, or purchased last month, or last year, or when they first started selling AKV contracts. All AKV contracts have the same ending date.

Old Key West was the first DVC resort. People were given the option of purchasing an extension on the contract end date. So some contracts end in 2042 and some end in 2057.

It sounds like your looking for the resorts expiration date (end year), not the UY.

The expiration for the resort depends on each resort (except for OKW where the non-extended contracts end in 2042 and extended end in 2057).

VGF will end in 2064
Aulani in 2062
BLT and VGC end in 2060
AKV in 2057
SSR in 2054
All the remainder end in 2042

I am sorry for having the wrong terminology. I am trying to get everything straight and sometimes you say the wrong thing. Thanks for you help on meaning "end date". All the resorts have the same "end date" no matter if I buy next year? Thank you again and I am sorry for the confusion.

Yes, it's the same end date no matter when you buy or even how you buy (direct or resale).

As I mentioned above OKW is the only exception where there are 2 end dates but it still doesn't matter when you buy them.

I am sorry for having the wrong terminology. I have been looking up lots of different things for DVC and got a little confused. Thanks for all of your help. Every resort has there own end year? That end year stays the same no matter if I don't buy until next year? Thanks again and sorry for the confusion.

yes and yes.

(OKW is a little confusing as some contracts end in 2042 and some end in 2057. but all the other resorts have one specific end date - doesn't matter when you buy - doesn't matter if you buy direct or resale.)

For example, if you buy BWV points today, they expire Jan 31, 2042. If you buy BWV points on Sept 21, 2025, they expire Jan 31, 2042.

This is exactly why this forum is here.. to help you! I have learned so much here .. and i was very close in buying directly with Disney in 2011... now if I did, I would have had Aulani as my home resort with subsidized dues.. I waited until 2012 because it took me that long to learn the ropes, read these posts and from here .. learned to wait and save money first before jumping in.. So i came up with enough cash and bought 2 resale contracts. Now i'm ready to add more points.

So ask away.. and read more of the other forums.. but most especially this forum on purchasing dvc.

Have fun and goodluck on your soon to be purchase!

"Use Year" (UY) has nothing to do with year. It has to do with the month when your "DVC points" become available for use. So, for example, you can have an April UY or a December UY. (There are 4 months without a UY.) Once you purchase your DVC, you cannot change your UY.

Walt Disney World (WDW) has several DVC hotels. Contracts for each hotel expire in different years:

- Villas at Grand Floridian - 2064
- Bay Lake Towers - 2060
- Animal Kingdom Villas - 2057
- Saratoga Springs Resort -2054
- Beach Club Villas - 2042
- Wilderness Lodge Villas - 2042
- Boardwalk Villas - 2042
- Old Key West Resort - 2042 or 2057

Whether you buy directly from Disney or thru resale, the expiration date is the same.
