You are in your Oct 2010 UY. Your current UY runs from 10/1/2010 to 9/30/2011.

This upcoming October, your UY points for 2011 will drop in Oct 1, 2011. They will be useful from Oct 1, 2011-Sept 30, 2012. Then on Oct 1, 2012 your 2012 UY points will drop in.
As PP stated you are currently in your 2010 UY until Oct 1 rolls around.

Oct 1, 2011 to Sep. 30, 2012 will be your Oct 2011 use year. Though you are "curently" living in your Oct 2010 use year, if you called today and made a reservation for April 2012, your "current" use year points for that trip are the ones from your Oct 2011 use year.

This upcoming October, your UY points for 2011 will drop in Oct 1, 2011. They will be useful from Oct 1, 2011-Sept 30, 2012. Then on Oct 1, 2012 your 2012 UY points will drop in.

this is the language we tend to use, but remember that you can book with pts from your oct 2012 use year at 11 months out, even if they haven't "dropped" yet...

I don't think of it as points "dropping" into my account because that implies that I can't use points from a future Use Year now and that's not the case. I could call today to make a reservation using points from my current (2010) UY, my 2011 UY and my 2012 UY.

Technically we have all of our points through the end of our contracts in our accounts already. Each set of points has "use by" dates associated with them. The members website only shows you your points out a couple of UYs ahead because based on the "use by" dates, that's the limit of what you can borrow for a reservation you make today.
