my salesman at dvc told me that UY wasn't a big deal but i'm not so sure.what do you guys think?my UY is feb for ssr , did anyone get a different use year for ssr?

They started off with December use year at SSR, then moved on to the next use year of February. (They skip January.)

To us, December use year was important. We went with BCv, but at the time were offered a February use year at VWl. We struggled with this cause my hubby loves VWL, but I also like dBCv from a stay we had there when it first opned on rented points and the December use year was better for us.

We have two small kids and have to go with the school calender.
We will for soem time always go in December, spring break and/or the summer.

If we wnet with the February use year and had a trip planned in December and then soemthing happenned we wouldn't really be able to get back those points as our time woudl be limited before they expired at the end of January.

Does this help?

They wanted to give us June, but because I read this board I knew to get a UY by when you want to travel. We picked September. Right now I home school and the private school the kids will attend in a few years doesn't care. Yankee boy DH can't stand the summer without airconditioning. So I will always be able to bank if plans change.:)

I think the thing about UY is the banking deadlines. with a feb, you can bank all your points as late as july and cant bank any after nov30. Will you know by Nov if you are going to use up all your points?

Use year is important to some and not to others. If you tend to travel the same season most years and may ever need to cancel (work, illness, etc), use year is very important.
