Use Year Question

My use year is Oct. We would like to book a trip for Dec 2007. I have points banked into my Oct 07 use year and will also have about point available but will still need to borrow from Oct 08. Can I book all my travel at the 7 month out timeframe while still in the 06 use year or do I have to wait until Oct 07 to use banked points and borrow from 08??

You just need to have the points available for the date of your trip. For Dec 07, you can book your home resort now. If not your home resort, you will need to wait until May which will be 7 months out. The trip will fall into your Oct 07 UY, so you may use banked 06 points, current 07 points and borrowed 08 points.

7 months from your check out day. If you check out on Dec 24, make your reservation on May 24. But if you need to do day by day reservations, you can call each day (Except Sunday because MS is closed) on next day. So if you check in on Dec 19, you call May 20, then call May 21, etc. (with MS closed on Sundays, you make two days on Monday). Tell them you will be calling day by day on the first day.

Strongly advise that you try to book home resort immediately. You can then try to switch at 7 months out. December and paticularly Xmas week are very busy times for DVC. In fact, for Xmas week, you can find it difficult to even get your home resort if you do not book 11 months out. In other words, there is no assurance you will be able to find anything at 7 months out, and you are already on the late side for booking your home resort.

My home resort is Vero so that isn't an option for us on this trip.
