Use year for SSR

For those of you who have purchased into SSR, did you get to pick your use year? Or was it based on the unit you purchased and when it opens?

If I purchase SSR, I was hoping to get a Feb use year, but just not sure if that is possible.

We bought SSR in Oct and picked June as our use year.

We bought in September 2003 and weren't worried about our use year, so we took the Feb UY that we got assigned.

You an pick the use year from whats available. You may find that one use year is available in one building but not in another.

we too purchased in Sept. but were given a Feb. use year. I don't think you can pick though.

They wanted us to have a June use year. I told them I wanted Sept. and it was done. No problem at all.

We discussed a October use year, but decided that June would be best. We purchased in October. We were given a choice but not all months were available at that time.

We bought in November and were assigned a March use year. At the time I was not that familiar with use year and how it works. I am not really concerned with my use year.

But - if you plan on going the same time each year, you should probably get a use year so that if you travel usually in Oct/Nov, it would fall in the 6 month time frame so you can get your 100% of points back if you ever need to cancel.

If you travel whenever - use year probably would not really come into play

We bought into SSR in October 2003 - we were "assigned" a February use year. We discussed it with our guide, it was his opinion that use year didn't matter much (time will tell!)-- my preference would have been December but that use year was gone.

I think it was August that I purchased in...one of the first days SSR went on sale, and was assigned a December use year, which was great because we got our 2003 points to use.

We purchased in November and were assigned Feburary use year. I didn't think we could ask for a different month.

I bought at the end of December and got an August use year, I don't know if you can choose or if you get assigned one. Works for me since I intend to take vacations after august or at least have them planned out by then. I'm glad I bought in, I don't really care when my use year falls, doesn't really matter!

We bought on October 31st and our guide, Celeste, gave us a choice. She walked through what would work for us and we ended up choosing an April use year.
