Thinking of adding on points (hoping to adopt our foster kids--so we need bigger accomodations!!). When you purchase add on points do they have to be the same use year that you currently have??
Thanks

Generally yes. If you buy them from Disney they will sell you the same use year unless you buy at least another 150 points (minimum purchase) and request another use year. They won't like it but I have heard they will do it.

If you buy a resale, then you can buy whatever you want and as small of a contract as you want.

Do you want a separate use year? It's a lot easier with only one. Trust me, I have two.

As noted, it has to be the same use year for less than 150 points unless you buy resale. Frankly, I'd be very reluctant to buy a small add on size contract of a different use year. Why not buy a smaller stand alone contract, maybe 150-170 points at a different resort so you have the 11 month window at more than one resort. That way it doesn't matter which use year you buy though it's still easier overall if it's the same as you already have.

What is your current home resort and how many poins do you own? What are the ages of all the children?
