Use Year and making reservations

If my use year is December and I want to make a reservation for December '09 when can I make the reservation using those points? Do I just borrow them and make the reservation whenever I want or what? TIA!!

You'll make that reservation in Jan 09 for Dec 09. Since the trip is in your Dec 09 UY, you won't be borrowing any points, just using the current year points for a vacation that year.

You just look at the date of your trip and you use the points for that year. If that trip falls requires all your available points for that year, you either can use banked points or borrow some from the next UY.

You can always reserve up to 11 months in advance at home resort and 7 at others and thus you can call to reserve at home resort in Jan 09 for Dec 09 trip. Which use year's points apply is always determined by when you will be there not by when you call to reserve. For a Dec 09 trip, your "current" use year points will be those issued Dec 1, 2009; if you have Dec 08 points and want to use them for that trip, you would need to bank those; if you wanted to borrow points for that trip, you would be borrowing from use year that begins Dec 2010.
