Use Year - Again

I hope you don't think this has been beaten to death but I would like to solicite your widsom and suggestions on what Use Year might be best for us. We plan to purchase from DVC and I understand from the postings I might be able to request a specific Use Year.

Historically we typically vacation WDW in February or March trying to avoid President's week and Spring Break. However, I could also see us going in the fall, maybe October or November in the future. Your thoughts and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a choice, I would go with October. You would still be within your 6 month 100% banking deadline for February or March.

Well, we seem to have similar vacation habits. Having been in DVC for a few years now, I'd say go for October or September as a UY. We got February when we signed up, and it has worked OK, but October would have been perfect IMO.

Now, are you buying direct from Disney, or are you going the resale route?

I fully agree with the others. We have Oct. UY and will usually vacation Nov & Feb or April. It really is ideal, our vacations are over before any of the banking deadlines.

Another way to look at it.... is there any months that you would definately not go to WDW? For us we would not go July and Aug. It is too hot down there (for us cold weather folks) and too wonderful in upstate NY during those months! There would be no trips to cancel during that time making the Sept/Oct. UY the best.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking October so I'm happy to get some input from the "experts" that coincide with my thoughts.

Lisa; being from Upstate NY ourselves I'd agree, I don't think we would every vacation at WDW during July or August; but never say never.
