Use points at moderate resorts??

I am currently at WDW, doing a split stay. There are 3 of us myself, DH and DS(17). We stayed 2 days at SSR in a studio (1 queen plus a double pull out). Then we moved to POR and have 2 double beds. We got great deals on both rooms, SSR studio was $149/night and POR was $115/night. My DS hated the fold out double at SSR and loved POR where he had a real bed. The two rooms are comparable in size, POR actually feels larger than the SSR studio with the double folded out. I would not spend points to book a moderate and now having stayed in a DVC studio, I would not use points for a studio unless there are only two of you.

I figure points belong to the member and are theirs to do as they please. And so we have the facts, CSR has queen beds as Chuck said the sofa beds in studios are full size.

I think you meant that SSR studios have a queen bed, CSR has two doubles or a king.

CSR has 2 doubles or a king, SSR Studios have one queen bed and one double (full) sleeper sofa.

I have stayed at a moderate when I've run out of points. Not crazy about them - but that's because if I stay DVC I don't do studios - I want the kitchen and the washer/dryer. :goodvibes

However, I agree with the other posters that it would be more cost efficient to rent your points and than use that to stay at a moderate if that's what you really want.

You should look at some of the other posts about the people having trouble getting ADRs because of the "free" dining. IMHO - I would avoid the crowds at the restaurants - stop pulling out my hair to get ADRs - get a 1bdrm and eat in the room or off property.

Not quite. There are several rooms at CSR that now have two queen sized beds and not two doubles.

Obviously the price (points+$95) would be a deterent to a dvc member.

My thoughts... If I had young children I would think that it would be worth it to stay at CB (cash or points) simply to stay in the newly themed Pirates of the Caribbean rooms. I am sure to a young child (and parents of), this would be priceless!!!
