Has anyone succesfuly their "free" one week, two bedroom through II that you got as part of the recent incentive. Just wondering on availability, etc. Thanks.

Yes we did get a good match! We had requested a 2BR at Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Ponds at Fox Hollow in the Massachusetts Berkshire Hills and the Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont, with TFL being our preference. Our time period was August 2005, yes a limited period, but possible. Within a week we got a match on TFL for mid August, which would have been perfect.

Unfortunately, we had to turn down the match since we have a wheelchair-bound child, who is getting heavy to lift. TFL only has four units that could acommodate us, while all the rest had 16 steps just to get into the units; the manager at TFL said that he would do everything they could to acommodte us but could not guarantee that we would get an accessible unit. Otherwise it would have been a perfect match. So we declined the match. When I related the saga to our Guide we were allowed to swap the certificate back to DVC and swap for the APs (which we were planning to buy anyway, so a good deal for us).

So, we took the APs and are going to rent at Mont Tremblant with cash, which appears to be a cost-effective method (it seems to cost about what we were gonna be paying for APs, if we time it right). Plus we can go exactly when we wanted, and mix it up with stops at Santa's Village in northern NH and maybe another week at my Folks' house on the coast of Maine; after all, my kids just can't get enough Grandparent time, and just maybe, DW and I get get a couple of evenings on our own.

So there are matches out there, and good ones (have you seen the restaurant menu at Trapp Family Lodge! looks wonderful!). We are not terribly flexible bcs of DS's mobility issue and summer special therapy program. If you can give them a bunch of different possibilities, you could get a real jewel of a match. However, I do recommend that before setting up your request that you do some research on TUG's site. Disney does limit the timeshares available to the "better" ones, but it still pays to do your research.

BTW, we have Thanksgiving 2005 week at the Wellington in Newport RI (well-rated on TUG), which we were planning on trading into II, but we may end up doing it privately, by trading it for, say, some '05 VB points.
