Use Gift cards on the ship

Can you use the Disney Gift cards on the Ship we are giving our DD some she can use for her special drinks at the vibe. Can she use them?

Yes, just bring them to Guest Services after you board and they will add them to your account.

When we sailed the Fantasy in November 2014 we were able to use gift cards at many of the stores. We did not use them outside of the stores so I can not speak to whether you can use them elsewhere. I do know you can use the KTTW card and then pay down the balance using the gift card(s) as well.

Wow, thanks for clarification. I have never heard that before. I have always been told only the KTTW card works for purchases of any kind.

I know for sure you can use it at Guest Services to apply to your onboard account (that's what we did). But I don't know for sure it's usable like a Disney gift card in the gift shops. My guess is - probably.

On our first cruise, I used the gift cards in the shops on board the Disney Dream. Yes, they took them, but two days later I decided to go to guest services and just check on our balance on the key to the world card. So glad I did, everything I purchased in the shops showed up on our account as if I did not pay for the items I purchased and I was going to have to pay for everything again!! I about had a heart attack. The nice lady behind the desk ask if I still had all my receipts and if so to bring them back down to guest services. I ran as fast as I could back up to our room with the itemized statement in hand and went through every shopping bag and our belonging and was able to find them all. I went back to guest services and she went through all my receipts and could tell I used gift cards for my purchases and had me go talk to the managers in each store. The manager had to go back and credit my KTTW card. After they were done, I went back to guest services to confirm the charges came off and they did. The best bet is apply the gift cards to your KTTW card at guest services and avoid all the hassle!

Make sure if you load many gift cards to your onboard account, that you keep the gift cards. Any remaining balance on the account will be put back on the cards.

Because the girl checking me out scanned my KTTW card first (and no I was purchasing everything with the gift card not the KTTW card) and then she scanned the gift card afterwards (this was my first cruise so therefore my first time using gift cards on a disney cruise). The lady at the guest services desk, did state that some of the people working in the gift shops don't know how to take off gift cards. Then she stated, the best way to do gift cards was to just add them to the KTTW card and then there is no problem. Our next two cruises we took, I just placed the gift cards on my KTTW card, and no problems. Planning my next cruise this year and already purchasing more gift cards.

this is what I am trying to find out. Is there a smoothie bar in the vibe and if so what is the cost of the smoothies?

My son was in Vibe on the Magic and LOVED the smoothie bar. Yes, there is one. Supposedly, they tell you that if it is not "smoothie hour", which they have once a day, that you will have to pay for any smoothies, however, my son told me that the CMs there make smoothies anytime the teens want them and that they were never charged and my post-cruise bill reflected that to have been true. Happy cruising!
