If I do online check in from what I understand I am already checked in, don't have to go to the front desk, they'll email/text my room number. So can I use my FD credits for breakfast that morning?

We're staying at a non-dining (free or otherwise) the night before, switching hotels and we'd like to use 1 credit for breakfast, go to the park and play (we will already have activated our AP) and then head for our room when it's ready.

What I don't want to do is get to breakfast and have them say I can't use my credits until after 3pm check in time. Ack!

I think this gets confusing because of the new direct-to-room option. Online check-in, which you can do 60 days in advance, is not enough to activate your dining credits. You need to actually check into your resort. That use to mean going to the front desk, but I'm not sure how it works now with direct-to-room.

But, you can go to the front desk and check in as early as 6:00 a.m. to activate your credits.

This could be wrong but my understanding was you did normal online check in and skipped check in at hotel, but you bands became active at park entrance.. but that doesnt make any since to me...

So where are all the smart peeps with real answer.

see that's the problem.....we are staying onsite so we won't have a car....I do not want to have to spend over an hour on a bus to go from Swan to Coronado just to have them scan my MB so I can then get back on the bus to Beach Club to eat breakfast. I chose that place for breakfast because it was a pleasant 2 minute boat ride across from Swan.

I think I might go ask my question on the resort board too....maybe someone there has experience with this....I know split stays are popular and the "free" of the dining question probably doesn't matter.
