If I have some Disney GCs, can I charge everything to my room during my trip, then take my GCs to the front desk and apply the balances to my room balance?

Wasn't sure if that was okay to do or not.

Yes you can. I actually took my gift cards to the front desk a few days before checkout and had them applied to my account, which actually left me with a credit balance (for awhile).

Cool, thanks! I have some GCs, but don't want to have to use them and keep track of my balances. Would be easier to just apply them a few days before departure.

Depending on when you do it, some of the CS agents will let you go over what you've already spent and create a credit, and some will not. We did it twice on our recent trip, the first time was on the 2nd or 3rd day of the trip and they let us put a $250 credit on the room charge account. The second time it was the morning of the last night (so full 24 hours left) and they would only let us go up to what was owed at that point. Be advised you need to keep all of the gift cards in case something happens during your trip and they decide to give you a credit for any reason. The credit will go back on the gift cards, and it could be any of the cards you used at any point, not necessarily the last card you used, or the biggest card etc. So make sure you keep them all until you get home and know there won't be any credit issued.

When you check in for a room only reservation can you use the gift cards and Disney reward cards to pay off the room?

yes to the gift card, i used it at check in on my stay in december. not sure about the rewards card, but i dont see why not

If you have multiple gift cards, just have them all applied to your folio when you check in. If there is any money remaining when you check out, they will give you a new GC with the balance. They may also ask for a debit or credit card, so if the GCs are completely used up you will still be able to do charges.

I know Cheshire Figment is an expert but personally, I would still save the GCs after applying them to the room account, just in case they credit back to those cards. This is how they do it on the ships and my parents had already cut up the cards after applying. Guest services didn't know how to handle it except to tell them to spend up their credit. :headache:
Luckily my parents had the sense to ask in the gift shop if gift cards were sold there (none out on display) so the last night of the cruise they bought a gift card to rescue their funds and can now apply them to a future cruise.

Is this possible at the Dolphin? I know they're called "The WALT DISNEY WORLD Swan and Dolphin," but I wasn't sure if they accepted Disney gift cards as payment for you room or room charges since they're not owned by Disney.

No, you won't be able to use your Disney gift cards at the Dolphin because it isn't owned by Disney.
