This may be a dumb question, but I'm wondering why my cricut has a USB connection on the back? Does this mean I can hook it up to the computer? I read the directions and didn't see anything about it. I'm having so much fun with my new toy!!:cool1:

they are releasing software sometime this year to use with your PC (no Mac compatibility :sad1: ) to be able to expand their cartridges. It will allow you to rotate the image and weld the letters together.

here is a link to one article about it.

info from their blog

Hope this helps!

I saw on another board someone was buying this and going to try to hack the USB protocol (a computer geek board - yes I'm a bit of one of those too). I never saw the end result of this - and would be a bit amazed if they were able to. I think this software will actually make it easier to do that, but would likely void any kind of waranty or tech help you may need.

I haven't broken down and bought a cricut - just can't justify it to myself or my hubby (even with my bonus) as I just got a wishblade this year. Really need to figure out how to cut characters with that!

I've also seen info about people working to "hack" into it, but no finished results.
