I just found out our return flights for our Magic cruise(MCO to IPT) were changed from 1110 departure to 1015! I called USAir and asked for the 1235 flight, but unfortunately it was "sold out". We will be using Happy Limo for our return from the port. We'll check our bags, and get our boarding passes at the port. Is there a snowball's chance in.... that we'll make the 1015 flight?

Yes, more likely than not you'll make your flight. :)

One note, though you can't get BOARDING PASSES at the port, only check your bags. And since your flight is so early it's not likely they will check your bags there, either, as they don't start rolling the trucks out until after they fill, and generally the don't take bags for flights earlier than 11:00.

You can be off the ship by 8:00 am most of the time and you'll be at the airport by 9:00. It will be tight but it definitely can be done.

Good luck! :)

Thanx Michelle for the good news! We won't check our bags at the port. Hopefully, we can check them curbside, or use USAirways automated system/kiosk for Dividend Miles passengers. Either way we'll avoid the usual long checkin lines. I'll be sure to have the troops up, and ready to go early that morning!

The 12:35 flight time has been changed to (believe it or not) 11:20AM. Fortunately I had already booked my DW and her party on the later flight. Unfortunately, they now have a 6 hours layover in Charlotte instead of 1 hour.

Good luck making your flights and have a safe trip home.

We booked our flights through Disney, with our cruise. I know in the past they always used US Air. Are they still using them? We are scheduled to cruise 11/9/02, and we never know any flight info until we get our documents. We always had direct flights in the past; I hope if we have a layover, it is short!
THANKS!!!!:D :)

I thought I would mention that if the airline changes the times of your flights even by a few minutes most will let you cancel your reservations with no penalties. I booked four tickets for our family last Nov with frequent flyer miles. Our flight times changes and I ended up buying 4 tickets to Orlando for 550.00 dollars and kept my miles.

After US Airways changed our flight time, we were able to cancel and get a full refund. We're now with a different airline--hopefully this one won't change times. It was actually less money--who can understand these things?

Hi kiddo!
Sorry to hear that you were one of the USAir casualties of flight changes. We had that happen in February when our flight was changed without our knowledge when we got back to Orlando. We made it, but WHEW!~
Not too many more days for us so who needs this additional stress!
Give Riker a pat from us!

We booked air thru DCL and they used American Airlines. It was a non-stop flight. I thought if you book air thru WDW or DCL, they are always non-stop. Has anyone booked air thru DCL or WDW and had a layover?

TT

Our first cruise we used DCL for our air. Flight left Indy early, we waited in Charlotte for a long time, then got in to Orlando around 1. Return flight left Orlando around 1PM (long wait in Orlando), about an hour in Charlotte then arrived in Indy around 5PM. We didn't know any of this until 2 weeks before when we got our documents. It was very frustrating not to have the information and be on "pins and needles" about the flights.

I make my own reservations now. Much cheaper and I get exactly what I want.

I am going to try the "get there the night before" and leave the "day after" scenario in May though. It sounds very relaxing and who really wants to rush home after being pampered. Too much of a reality shock!
And those FOUR LETTER words: cook, wash, iron, dust!

Our first 2 cruises using DCL air were non-stop. This year however, we had a layover in Atlanta for 1 1/2 hours both ways. I believe DCL has always had us on Delta.

We always go in February, the weather up here in Connecticut can be so unpredicatable, we prefer to use DCL air and insurance in case a snow storm closes the state down.

For those of you who have booked air thru DCL and flew in the day before-what time was your flight? I am just assuming it will be in the afternoon, because check-in at the motel isn't before 3:00. I'm just curious and don't want to have to wait until we get our documents 2 weeks before the cruise, to find out. Thanks a bunch!!!!:smooth: :jester:  :)

Not to defend US Airways bc they are really aggravating me right now, BUT this happens all the time with all the airlines when you book your flights far in advance. It will happen more frequently right now bc the industry is in so much flux, so please don't assume that if your tickets are with another carrier that you're "safe". You should make sure the airline has your phone number in your reservation record, and re-confirm your flights a couple of times before the big day. Frequently, they will also change aircraft types depending on how the route is selling and when that happens you will often get a changed flight number.

We too are booked on the 12:35 flight from MCO. I just checked the US Airways website and the 12:35 flight is still showing avilable. How did you find out that the flight was changed?

mickeymouse fan -- Perhaps you are flying on different dates?

The flights that I was talking about are on October 3rd. Sorry for the confusion. I booked the airfare through Orbitz.com and got an email from them informing me of the change. I called Orbitz this morning and asked about either rebooking the return flight or cancelling. I kinda wish they would have taken the option to cancel the flight because I found a less expensive non-stop flight that would have worked out so much better. USAir was able to offer me a return flight through Philly that leaves Orlando 40 minutes later and arrives in Columbus hours earlier. Not as good as the non-stop that I could have had from another airline, but much better than the rush to the airport that my wife was going to be faced with.

I would call US Air and tell them you are unhappy with the new flight times and tell them you want a refund. They should do this.

After calling USAir several times this week, last night they finally found a later flight (original flight cancelled & rescheduled for 1015a) at 1155a . However, it was a DOUBLE CONNECTION. The 1235 flight I wanted on Sat. 5/3/03 now had one seat available (last week it was totally booked). This morning when I called the USAir rep said "No problem, we can easily get you on the 1235 flight!:bounce: Thanks to all for your encouragement, and tips about calling during "off peak" times. Now on the last morning of the cruise I can relax, have breakfast, and not have to stressss about getting to MCO before 10am!

Great news! Just be aware that with so much time between now & your cruise, it could all change again, so keep checking the flights every so often so that you are aware.
