USAir: So Far, So Good

Awhile back I made reservations with USAir for two of my boys and a friend. I was thrilled to pay $93.50, inc. tax, roundtrip from Boston to MCO. Mon. a.m., we arrived at Logan, and as the boys were checking their bags (boy, they travel a lot lighter than I do, LOL) the girl at the counter pulled their info up on her computer and noticed they were not seated together. I did the best I could with seating, but there just wasn't a lot of choice. Not only were they not sitting together, they were each in a middle seat, and they're all over six feet. But the girl checking them in put them together in an emergency row! My oldest said they were perfectly comfortable, their flight left a little early and arrived a little early. We've never used USAir before, and I was a little apprehensive, but so far all is going well. We'll see how they make out on their return flight this Friday!!!

Maybe we should have drive to Boston! We could have gotten tickets for $179.50 back in November (for May) but things were weird at work & we weren't sure we'd have jobs! We waited until the beginning of Jan when we were fairly sure of having jobs for a few more months. (DH & I work for the same company.) Less than 6 weeks later, we had to pay $237.50 & had to leave at 6am to get that price!

It would have been worth it to go to Boston & stay over a night! LOL;)

We always use USAir & have always been very pleased with the service. The only trouble we've ever had was trying to get a wheelchair in Philly upon return - & I'm not sure the person was employed by USAir, now that I think about it. We got a typical Philly attitude - "What do you mean you can't walk from here?!?!" (That's why we live in the 'burbs!)

Glad things are going well for you & hope they can get exit row seating for the return as well. The rest of the seats are awfully close together for 6 footers!

My Mom and I returned from Orlando about 3 weeks ago. I had booked the flight back in October and we had seats 4A & 4B, first seats in coach. When I got to the gate, the counter person said we had adjoining aisle seats. I said no, I think we have 4A & 4B. She looked at the screen and said, that's weird, it does say 4A & 4B in one spot on your reservation, but the actual seats are different. I said I prefer to have a window seat. She checked the computer and asked if we wanted exit row, 9E & 9F. I said OK. She apologized about it like she knew something wasn't right. There was no change in aircraft, it was an Airbus 319 like on the reservation. After we got on the plane, I looked up at 4A & B and there was a couple with a little boy sitting there. How much do you want to bet someone bumped us out of our seats so that the family could sit together? The extra room in the exit row was great and I'm glad that the family could sit together, but it still made me a little mad that they could just change seats that we reserved 7 months before.
