USAir info

As much as I hate to see this airline go that I've flown all my life, I think in the long run it'll be better for everyone. With one less airline in the US (especially on the East Coast), other airlines, such as Delta and United, may have a much better chance of getting through their problems. Plus, loads would be higher with less flights. Hopefully, though, Southwest doesn't take over too many of the routes. Gotta let the legacy carriers get some business, and not everyone wants the WN experience. But, WN will get PHL, and from what I heard, PIT may get a "focus city" status from NW & FL should US go under.

All I can say is thank goodness its not happening sooner...my parents just changed to US Airways from Southeast when they went under earlier this week.

Then again...I'm still crossing my fingers that nothing else happens with US Air before the 17th!

I am supposed to be flying with them in February too. I got a really good price and flight times that I couldn't pass up although I usually fly Southwest. :guilty: I don't know what will happen to all those passengers who have already purchased tickets. I am thinking this is going to cost me more money for my "great deal." I hope we are able to get a refund but I fully expect to shell our more money for a flight on another airline and probably get stuck with lousy flight times. I am expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

Their decline in Pittsburgh is huge. I flew with them on a business trip to Orlando 2 weeks ago, I noticed how empty the concourses were. Everything was shutdown when my return flight landed around 9:30pm. We flew Air Tran today to Orlando, I noticed the flight board is half empty now and USAir no longer has their flights separate. I liked Air Tran, my flight was pretty full. I only paid $135 per ticket.
