Hello! I booked my flight for four back in April on USAir. I went to their website today to 'view' my flight info to check on it as I leave on Wednesday. It won't accept my confirmation number and the 'internet help' line is way too staticky to hear anything. It says confirmation numbers should be a combo of alpha numeric symbols and mine is ONLY letters, NO numbers. However, I do have a printed out email from them with my reservation confirmed. What do I do now? When I checked on basic flights for my days and times, my departure flight is listed, but my flight home is not listed, altho the exact times and connections ARE listed under two new flight numbers. Is that me?? What do I need to do??

Also, when I tried checking on this with my confirmation code, I clicked on 'my trip' to do it. Should I be clicking on something different? It said with that I could view, modify, print out, email, etc. my trip.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you book your flights on the USAirways web site? I have USAirways tickets that I booked on Expedia and Priceline. They do not show up on the USAirways site. When I called USAirways, they were able to confirm my reservations, though. I would call if you have any doubt. (800) 428-4322

I booked thru the USAir website and in June I received another email from them saying there was a change in one of the flights and back then all I noticed was that the connecting flight on the way home changed by 15 minutes. Now I see they DID change the flight numbers so that does match up with what the site is showing for flights. However, it still will not accept my confirmation code and the phone number isn't working for me. All my emails from them do have the same letters only confirmation number. I'm just worried that 24 hours before departure when I go to check in online I won't exist!!

What browser are you using? USAir recently redesigned its site and I find that it's a little wonky. I use Firefox and the site does not agree with this browser at all. Are you on the "view reservation" page where it asks for your confirmation and departure date? (From the homepage toolbar, select "manage reservations" from the "travel planning" mouse-over menu. If so, double check you are entering the correct date and double check the emails USAir sent to make sure they have your booked on the correct date.

That same page also gives you the option to log in and view all reservations made online -- have you tried that?

I would just call US Airways. Their website is terrible. You could also try www.virtuallythere.com Are you entering your 6 digit number(your record locator)

Call the regular reservations number for US Airways. They should be able to help unless you get one of the overseas reps. If so just hang up and try again.

US Airways uses virtuallythere.com to confirm their reservations. Go on that site and plug in your last name and reservation number, well letters. Make sure your last name is in all caps. That should do it.

Enjoy your trip.

Okay, I DO exist at virtually there!!! Does that mean I'm really okay? When Tuesday rolls around, will I be able to print my boarding passes and check in online since the USAir website doesn't recognize me?? Do I need to do something about this? Thanks!!

The web site is very bad most of the time. Are you feeling lucky? :) You can't predict how the website is going to be.

All of my recent booking codes from US Airways have been all letters. Are you sure you are entering date of departure and booking code correctly?

Don't call the help line, call the customer service line and be aware, sometimes zeros are actually O's.

I have no 'O's or zeros in my confirmation number, nor can I change the departure date. A friend entered my number and was able to select the correct departure date (for me it remains on today's date and won't budge) and I was in there. Of course SHE can't get it to accept HER confirmation number!! At this rate we'll be doing each other's! Of course it would help if she lived closer than six hours away if I need her to print out my stuff!!

I suggest you visit www.flyertalk.com go to miles and points, then airline forums, then US Airways. You will find plenty of stories about how bad the website is and having problems with online check in.

Have you tried clearing out your cookies and trying it again?

The reconstituted US Airways is being merged with America West. The computer and reservations systems have not yet been merged. As a result information is going to depend on whether you have a USaIR RESO OR America WEST RESO. if YOU ARE IN a AW site you want get an answer on a US reso and vice versa. Had teh same issue last week. When you sign on USAIRWAYS.COM watch and see if you are directed to a usairways.com\aw sight or a usairways.com/us site. You will have to call USAir to confirm and they can tell you by your # (8=AW,4=US....but don't quote me on that:>)

Thier IT and websites are a mess right now

Okaaaay, well if I can't check in online 24 hours beforehand, what do I do? Do I just walk to the ticket counter at the airport and hand them my license or something? I WAS finally able to get their site to work thru Internet Explorer. I had been using Netscape when it wouldn't cooperate. But do I actually need to enter the airport with documentation, or will they print all I need for me? I have the confirmation email printed out, as well as the email about the flight change info....

You can check in outside with the skycap or at the ticket counter. Either one will check you in and print your boarding pass.

Confirmation # and ID are all you need.

Oh you may need to prompt them to look at the other side of t he airline if they can't find it - but they will,
