I noticed in my unofficial planning guide (2006 edition), they mention that you can pay out of pocket of child's TS meal and pocket those credits for an adult to use later, thus saving $.

Disney's 2007 Dining Plan brochure specifically says that this cannot be done, "only children can use the child's credit".

Is this one of those enforced things at disney or have they become more strict in the last year?

TS credits are separated into "Adult" and "Child", so you will not be able to use a child TS credit for anyone except a child in your party. The CS credits are still "pooled", however you will not be able to order any additional adult CS meals than what is noted on your room key. For example, if you have 2A and 2C on your meal plan, you will only be able to order 2 adult CS meals at a time.

HTH.

You will actually recieve a reciept for Adults...and a seperate reciept for Childrens Credits. They closed this loop hole.

And even if that were not the case, the DISboards isn't a place for advocating going around and finding loopholes in Disney's stated policies. It would be inappropriate to discuss any usage of the Dining Plan that runs contrary to what is stated in Disney's published materials.

I that's a bit strong. Disney has many stated polices listed in published materials that it doesn't enforce. Fastpass expiration times for instance. I think discussion of which policies Disney does and doesn't enforce is DIS-board appropriate.

It's a bit tricky to draw the line. To me, there is a difference between what Disney is aware of and doesn't enforce (fastpass) and things you can get away with because Disney won't catch you (pool hopping).

Just curious....when did Disney start doing this? :hippie:

I read about this "loophole" as stated advice in a tour guide book. It was because I also read the Disney literature that I noticed the discrepancy. I was just trying to figure things out.:goodvibes

It is now enforced, your guidebook is outdated.

Bicker meant that the DISboards has decided that it is not appropriate not him.

Hence the link to the policy.

Advocating going around and finding loopholes in Disney's stated policies is not allowed. Disney's printed material indicates there is no sharing of child and adult credits. Regardless of what a CM may say, until Disney changes their printed materials, this is a closed discussion.

Rather than having a full blown discussion on this, let's say here that the previous poster is correct with the thought that the Dis goes along with Disney Policy and Bicker is correct as well in his posting. We are locking this thread as it has been answered.
