The FIL asked me today about getting USA sim cards for their upcoming holiday. Both MIL & FIL have got regular mobiles not iphones or anything fancy. How much would a SIM be and where could they get one? They fly into Denver and then head to a ski resort for a wedding so i'm not sure they'll be a huge amount of shops.

Anywhere that sells phones will do them, often even supermarkets do.

HOWEVER - you need to get them to check their phones are tri-band otherwise they won't work in the U.S. regardless of the sim card that's in it!

:thumbsup2

If they don't have smart phones it'll probably be easier to get a cheap phone out there. I've seen them as low as £29.99 in Wal-Mart with a PayandGo SIM.

It avoids all that messing around with Tri-Band phones and whether their current phones are locked to their UK network (as they usually are).

EDIT:

Used the wrong symbol, I meant $29.99
