My family and I are going to spend 1 day in Universal Orlando at the end of our Disney trip and I was wondering (I have a 6 yr old little boy) which park he would probably like best, for his age, Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios. We were thinking of IOA because of Spiderman but we've never been to either so I could use some advice from some veterans. Thanks.

I would say IOA, if you like thrills and it's got it's things for younger kids.

USF is also a great park but if you want thrills IOA is the way to go.

I would say do both. If you have to do 1 IOA would be the one I'd pick.

Here is some info for you to help you make a decision. It really all depends on what your 6 year old may enjoy. There is plenty at both parks.

Universal Studios has Woody Woodpecker kidzone and kids (and many adults) could spend many hours in this area. The animals actors stage is there, Barney,Curious George Town (excellent) Fievels, ET and woodys coaster.

MIB is lots for fun as is Jaws and dont forget you have Nickelodeon Studios here also.

IOA

Me ship Olive, Jurassic Park Discovery Center. Triceratops Encounter, Camp Jurassic (my boys love this area) Pteranodon Flyers (made for kids) 2 shows in the Lost Continent The flying Unicorn. Spiderman of course! Really should not be missed. All of Seuss Landing! (my favorite eye candy area)

I am sure I may be missing some other things your 6 year old may enjoy but as you can see there are many options at both!

Okay sorry I know not what you wanna hear but.....I pick both! :)

Actually that helps a lot because all you had to say was IOA has Jurrassic Park and that would be enough. My little boy absolutly loves dinos. Thanks a bunch. I think he will have the time of his life and I will too just watching him.

BeautyBelle, Don't only have a fun time watching him... Go on the Hulk and Dueling Dragons if you like roller coasters. You can do the kid swap since your son will be too small :)

What exactly is a kid swap?

It's where you give your kids away for someone elses. --- Just kidding. It's were you can ride a ride and your husband watches the kids. Then he can ride and you watch the kids.

Ha Ha Ha that was funny...:jester: Nobody would take my kid. LOL Im just playing......But the kid swap thing could be a good thing for us to ride the coasters. Thanks for the tip.

Barry may I ask you a question about that site? You have a tip there.

Tip #1: DON'T EAT THE FOOD. Universal Studios is notorious as having the worst theme park food on the planet. It is grossly overpriced and you'll walk away feeling ripped off. Our suggestion is to go out to CityWalk for lunch, especially Margaritaville. A nice lunch for three adults ran us $29 + tip. The portions are large, the food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable.

I eat there all the time and never found it to be bad. I have BBQ Pork Sandwhichs at Cafe La Bamba they are great. I have eaten personal pizza at Monster Cafe they aren't gross. I think that's your opinion not a tip.
