We will be doing US one day and IOA one day....planning Mythos for our IOA day. Any recommendations for lunch at US? Prefer a sit-down meal to rest if there is a good choice, but can do counterservice as well.

If any recs are for CW restaurants, how long does it take to get there, eat and back to the parks? We want to rest but not take too much park time.

We will be going in February (Mardi Gras week) and staying on-site.

TIA!

For counter service...I would recommend Louie's and for sit down service...go with Finnegan's. Both are very good! You won't need to make reservations at either place in February. Universal's Mardi Gras doesn't start until the end of March. The walk from IOA is about 5 mins.

Great choices!!!:thumbsup2

My favorite table-service place in USF is Lombards. The food is great, the service is great, and the restaurant itself is beautiful, peaceful, and has a great location.

I definately recommend Finnegan's. Have yet to dine at Lombards. But have heard great things about it. For counterservices, I would actually recommend Monster's Cafe. It's a nice atmosphere and a little healthier. But the International Food and Film Festival has almost a food court layout with four different counters. In CityWalk, I would recommend Nascar, NBA City, Bubba Gumps, Hard Rock or Pastamore. It's maybe a ten minute walk at most. If you're at Universal, the closest CityWalk restaurant is Nascar and Hard Rock. At Islands, it would be NBA City or Pastamore. Bubba Gumps is the furthest. On site is completely different. At the Royal Pacific, there's Emeril's Tchoup Chop and the Islands Dining Room. At the Portofino Bay, there's Mama Della's. At the Hard Rock, there's The Kitchen and The Palm.

I recommend taking a detour for Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific Resort. DH and I have done lunch there a couple of times. The prices are much more reasonable and the menu is almost the same. Great Polynesian fusion type food. The wok stuff is really good, too.:thumbsup2

For counter service...I would recommend Louie's

We ate at Louie's last month and we really enjoyed the pizza.

I'll pass on a tip that I learned the hard way. We ordered gelatos from the stand that is outside of Louie's. We then went inside of Louie's to order our pizza. My boys got us a table next to the indoor counter for the Gelato stand and I stood in line...for 25 minutes :scared1:

When I got to the table with the pizza, my boys said "Guess what? We could have ordered our pizza from the gelato window." And sure enough, we saw a waitress bring a whole pizza to a customer at the outside gelato window. :headache:

By the way, the gelato was delicious!!! We ordered coconut (which I was surprised that I liked) and caramel. Luckily I ate some before I got in line because when I got back to the table, I had a gelato milk shake :rotfl:
