We'll be headed to US/IOA next week with our two daughters, ages 6 and 2. The 6 year old is 44 inches, so tall enough to go on many attractions, but at the same time, she is scaredy cat. She is ok with straight up thrill rides (she loves BTMRR at MK) but is not ok with jump out at you scary type rides or anything with ghosts, monsters, etc. We've never been to US and haven't been to IOA in 10+ years so I have no idea what rides she would enjoy and what rides will leave her with nightmares for weeks. Help!
Would you let your scaredy cat ride
Spiderman
MIB
The Simpsons
ET
Shrek
Despicable Me
Disaster
Poseidon's fury

Thanks!

Spiderman- Ehh questionable if she knows the story line/characters
MIB- If she likes Buzz/Toy Story Mania's shooting aspect she'll like this prob despite the aliens though they really dont jump out
The Simpsons- If she can do star Tours you'll be okay
ET- definitely
Shrek- if she likes the story line though its can be jerky
Despicable Me- definitely
Disaster- should have no issues- the worst 'scare' is the earthquake
Poseidon's fury- Should have no issues-

My 6 year old has only recently started to ride things. Before that he was a serious scardy cat so I'll tell you how he was:

Spiderman...Nope. There is a fire burst in there that's kind of warm on the face. Freaked him out and he wouldn't go back on it for a year.

MIB....Yes, not too bad. But there are creepy alien things and some loud noises. It's not too bad though.

The Simpsons....Yes, but the crown creeps ME out, lol

ET....No. The line freaked him out. It's a dark forest at night and he was freaked by the noises. On the ride itself it gets loud and a lot of smoke gets in your face. I would have expected him to be fine and he wasn't at all.

Shrek...No. He didn't like 3d and the moving chairs and water droplets in your face and stuff freaked him out. *sigh*

Despicable Me...Yes! Very cute and not scary at all.

Disaster....No. Noisy, fire balls, and gushing water. 'Nough said.

Poseidon's fury....No! It gets pitch black at times.

Here is what he did like:

Storm X...it's like tea cups at MK
Jurassic Park play area (though the dinosaur noises scared him at first)
Suessland (all of it)
Hippogryph roller coaster in wizarding world of HP

Barney area at Universal (NOT the show at that age, lol. Go through the store to the play area)
Woody Woodpeck coaster
Curious George play area
Fievels play area

Keep in mind my kid was on the extreme side of being scared I think. The good news is that IOA/US has excellent kid swaps. The downside at US is all the kid stuff is in one area and your kid will likely get bored doing nothing but kid swaps. Our family usually split up.
