My family, which consists of two adults, a 7 yr old girl, and two 5 yr old boys, will be going to Orlando in early December. Do you think it is possible to do both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in one day. If not, would you recommend US or IOA for the ages of my children?

In early December, yes. I remember last year the crowds were very thin during that time.

Hello,

Thanks for the information! I am also staying at the RP hotel, so I will have the experess option. Just out of curiousity, if you had to choose a park for a seven and five year old, which would you suggest?

I just so happen to have 2 five year olds and an 8 year old and they LOVE IOA!!! Seuss Landing is the best, and my five year old daughter loves Flying Unicorn coaster. Storm is alot of fun, and Spiderman is too. Look at the IOA map and it will give you an idea of all the things there are to do there. One of my 8 year old's favorite things is the Jurassic Park Discovery Center.

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback! Would you attempt trying to see both parks on the same day?

In my last trip I did both in one day. I went in a time of year that was much more crowded than the time you're going, so I never got on the same ride twice. But it was an amazing day b/c we got to combine the best of 2 amazing parks. The lines shouldn't be too long for you, so I can see you doing both parks easily.

Hello,

Do you happen to recall where you purchased your tickets? Did you get them at the gate, or on-line? Did you use a Fan Club card?

You can get the one day 2 park ticket at the gate, but get there early, the lines are usually long for tickets early in the morning.

Nah, why waste time?? Either getting up early OR waiting in line for tix there??? Get 'em online....either from the Universal site or Ticketmania....that's what we do!

We are going to WDW next june. Daughter (26) grandaughter (10) and son (11) want to go to Universal Studios. I told them they get one day. Could they do both parks in June or should they just try one. this is their first time there.

Visiting both parks in the same day can be done, but you won't see everything. Unless things have changed, they only sell the 2 park/1 day pass at the gate.
The only negative to the situations I'm reading about here, is you will be "dragging" your kids everywhere, and you'll get worn out. Plus the parks close early the first few weeks of December.
If you can't wake up early and be at the ticket window at 8am, then it may be better to visit one park and take your time.
If you are two adults and can go commando style, then it works, but I don't know about trying to do it with kids.

You can buy the one day/one park ticket at the gates but you have to be insistant that that is what you want as it isn't one of the options listed on the overhead "menu" options at the ticket booths and isn't one of the options in the ticket kiosks at all.

You can also buy a one day/one park at Ticket Mania but they don't offer a one day/two park ticket.

I will be going to Universal Studios and IOA Friday Sept 23rd with my girlfriend. We will be doing both parks in the same day and I was wondering if the $27 extra per ticket (for both parks - $15 if we do it for only 1 park each) is worth the money to get the Express Pass Plus? Is it needed on a weekday in late September or a waste of money?

IOA:

Definitely want to ride
Hulk
Dueling Dragons (both sides)
Jurassic Park
Spiderman

Optional:
Dr. Doom
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls
Bilge Rat Barges (Not sure we want to walk around drenched on the water rides - may take a change of clothes)

Universal Studios:

Definitely want to ride/see
Shrek
Mummy The Ride
Jaws
Men In Black
Terminator 2 3-D
Earthquake

Optional:
Twister
Back to the Future
ET
Animal Planet Live

Thanks!

You won't need the express passes on 09/23/05. Kids will be in school.
Do the rides in the order you have them listed starting at IOA.
