My friend claims to have gotten an incredible AAA discount for AP for both parks plus a free 3 months - has anyone done this? Im not a member but will be if discount is still there?

Yes, we have bought this pass. It was available at AAA FL, so a friend picked it up for us. It is a '2 Park Power Pass'- no free parking, no food discounts (I believe) and there are limitations on when you can use it but cannot go during Christmas, some periods during the summer, that sort of restriction. It is good for 15 months and we also paid $99 plus tax. We got ours several months ago (like around last September). Not sure if they still have it or not. Good luck!
