My parents (Mom 60 something, Dad 70) have decided to meet us in Orlando in July. We will be staying at HRH, and they will probably stay offsite. They asked me if they should go to the parks. I'm not sure if there is enough for them to do at US and/or IOA that would make it worth their price for admission. They are in fairly good health. They can take the heat and don't mind walking around a bit. But...they don't like thrill rides, Dad has bad back and could not go on any "jerky" rides, and Mom is prone to motion sickness. What do you think?

I'm taking my grandmother (75) to Universal Studios. We feel IoA will be pointless. But my grandmother really wanted to go to spend time with us and see us have fun (so sweet of her), but I feel there are some things she'll enjoy and that maybe your parents will too.

Some rides are not too bad at US, however. I think you want to check with employees at certain rides for their recommendations.

Jimmy Neutron and Shrek have stationary seating and could be fun to watch still. (no pun intended)

There are some great shows, as I've said. Check out Horror Makeup Show and Blue Brothers in particular. Maybe even Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue if they like music and wouldn't mind more "recent" music (well...some aren't TOO recent...though).

MIB has some spins and moves only on a track without much other "moving feeling." However I'm not sure if your mother can handle this with her motion sickness, maybe your dad can? Again, I'm not sure, but I've seen elderly people on it.

But mostly shows are the way to go.

Besides, Twister is something you stand in and watch (sorta a show itself) and Earthquake has a nice pre-show (though they won't be able to handle the ride itself).

ET, though a tad cheesy is cute and isn't too bad, as far as I remember it. They gotta accommedate little kids too and can't make it TOO jerky...

But ask someone who works there and check the signs and warnings if you are unsure.

I won't know anything more until a week from Saturday when I go with my grandmother and see how that goes.

Hope this helped a little bit!!! :)

Thanks, flyfly, for the info. My parents have decided to go to US with us and skip IOA. They've also decided to stay onsite at the RPR.

Hope you and your grandmother have fun, too!:teeth:
