(I've posted this on other forums as well, my apologies to readers who have seen my question on another site already!)

Hi guys, looking for some valuable input from the experts :worship:

We (me and Mr. B, both mid 30s, no kids) are going to WDW May 14 to 24, staying at POR. We have 8.5 days there, and have bought 7 days MYW with water parks and hopper. We are debating whether to throw in a quick one-day trip to Universal and IOA on one of our days. We’ve been to both parks in May 2014, and there are a lot of things we wouldn’t mind not doing in order to squeeze our plans into just one day park-to-park. Now, before anyone suggests it, we don’t think we’ll buy the express passes (didn’t in 2014 and felt that was fine) and we will not be staying at one of the Universal resorts that would provide express passes (WAY outside our budget), nor would we stay at Cabana Bay for early entry. We would catch a taxi (or Uber) from POR on a week day to be there 9am to 9pm (I looked at the park hours online, that’s what they are for that week, with IOA closing earlier but US open til 9).

Anyway, this is our “list” of must-do’s in the parks. Do you guys think it’s reasonable to think we would achieve this in 12 hours, without express passes, on a weekday in May?

Universal Studios:
  • Transformers
  • Revenge of the Mummy
  • Harry Potter (where we would spend most of our time)
  • Simpsons

Islands of Adventure:
  • Popeye water ride
  • Dudley Do-right water ride
  • Jurassic Park River Adventure
  • Harry Potter Forbidden Journey
  • Dragon Challenge (only one of them)
  • Hogwarts Express to and from both parks

:thanks:

A couple of the rides you could use the single rider lies which would cut back on the wait time

Water rides..... Rent a locker for a change of clothes, especially socks if you aren't wearing sandals or wearing quick dry clothes

Be at the entrance line at least 30 minutes before park opening
You'll still have some waits as onsite peeps will already be in the parks

I think you could get the rides done in a decent time period at the studios
Parry Hotter section will depend on the crowds
