Am considering flying from LHR with US Airways. Anyone had experience with them? Comments appreciated.

Just got back from flying with them. I did Manchester - Philidelphia - Orlando. Really good service and no delays. Philidelphia airport is huge and I had to run from one terminal to another. There isn't much leg room and the food wasn't great, but other than that I have no complaints.

Although there are a few airlines I like best (southwest being one), all the "big guys" are about the same in my opinion. Customer service is not their strong suit, but they tend to have better prices and they "get the job done"--get me from point A to point B.

I have had one DREADFUL experience that bordered on dangerous with US Air and VOWED I would never fly them again, but 1 year ago I was forced to travel with them for reasons outside of my control. The experience was fine and had no problems. Since then I've flown with them 3 more times without incident.

We are going to Disney in Jan--flying USAir--the prices were the best and since I have some good experiences, I've decided to continue to give them my business.

Hope this is helpful.

Used US airways in Feb but MAN~PHL~TPA
They are probably the worst of the US carriers, least leg room, poor food etc but if they are the cheapest they get my money.

back in the days when they were Allegheny Airlines, we didn't call them "all agony" for nothing!

Have just landed back this morning.

Flew with them MAN - Philly - MCO.

No complaints would fly with them again.

On the way out 1st flight was delayed so had to run for the connection but they did hold the flight as there were 90 plus of us running!

On the way back flight was delayed from 5 til 6.15. Was very impressed with the staff they announced the plane was in and loaded everyone super quick - we left at 6pm. At philly we were off, staff there telling us to go to the next gate and straight on - again they held the flight.

Cabin staff are older, very efficient.

Took 9 hours from take off at MCO to landing at Manchester - not bad for an indirect flight!

I thought the plane and food was better to virgin (last flew Virgin Oct 2010)

Above all cost is key for me - we saved £1000 for the 3 of us flying US airways not Virgin.

Used off airport check in a LBV outlets - really impressed. like the virgin downttown disney service but serves US airways. Cost $10 each. No line - boarding passes ready for us and our bags were 1st off in Manchester.
