Can anyone give me any experiences on flying with US Airways??? I usually fly SW but due to scheduling US Airways work better for us.

Input please??

Thanks

Kim

Well, I just flew US for the first time last month. I will never fly them again if I do not have to! Although the flights were smooth the booking etc was PAINFUL...I had to change flights due to a vacation change, and it is almost impossible to speak to anyone in the US!!! They are all from other countries and there is a definate language barrier! I had a horrible experience with them from beginning to end..right down to trying to find our luggage upon our return home.

Of course, this is just my experience....some do not like Southwest but I sure do! I will take SW over US ANY DAY!!!!!

Sorry for the negative...I'm sure someone will post with the positive!

We've never flown US Air before either, but we are booked through them for our December trip, so I'd be interested to know people's experiences as well.

I already have a "D'oh!" and "Whew!" story, though...
We are flying from Minneapolis through Chicago O'Hare to Orlando, and we were booked the same route in reverse coming home.
For some reason yesterday, I checked my reservation, and US Air had changed the last leg of our return trip from O'Hare to Minneapolis to an earlier flight! Our flight from Orlando to O'Hare is scheduled to land at 8:10 p.m., and instead of the 9:40 p.m. flight to Minneapolis (which now apparently doesn't exist), they had us on an 8:30 p.m. flight!
I'm not sure how they thought we were going to make a connection that tight, so I called Expedia (where I had booked the tickets), and had them check into it.
They agreed that the connection wouldn't work, and they called US Air to get a different flight.
Fortunately, they were able to get us on a flight from Orlando to Charlotte, and then Charlotte to Minneapolis-- with around an 1 hour 45 minute layover in Charlotte (which I'm much more comfortable with).
So, I'm glad they were able to make the change (at no extra charge, of course), and I'm fine with the new arrangements, but I don't know why they thought we would be able to make that Chicago connection, and didn't bother to tell me!
(I'm also really, really glad I checked into this now, rather than having a big surprise in December!)

I have flown US Air a number of times, especially between Boston and DC, and my husband flies this route several times a month with no problems. The nice thing is, at least for their frequent commuter type routes, is they have lots of flights and let you get on an earlier/later flight than scheduled with no additional payment.

I don't have any complaints about US Air except their overweight baggage fee is high - $50 if over 50 pounds.

I'm also really, really glad I checked into this now, rather than having a big surprise in December!

US Air probably didn't inform you of the change because the flight is so far in the future and who knows how many times it will change again? It is a good idea to occasionally check on your flights for a far off booking, just to keep on top of these things. Any significant change in time of departure or arrival means the airline will change your flights at no charge to you, if you request this.

We fly US Air often. I've had no more problems with them than any other airline. Flying them back to Disney is Sept as a matter of fact. :thumbsup2

I fly US Airways almost weekly. They are bringing their customer service reps back to the US. They found they had a lot of problems with customer complaining about the overseas reps.

I fing them a great airline. They are actually making money now which a lot of airlines can't do.
