US Airways - seat assignment help....

Hi,
I purchased tickets on USAir's website from MCO to BOS, with one stop at DCA. on the website it allowed me to chose seats from MCO to DCA, but wouldn't allow seat assignment from DCA to BOS and said to call. I called customer service and was told that because it's a Airbus/commuter plane, seats are first come first serve They told me there's nothing I can do Can any seasoned US Airways traveler confirm this?? If I had known I cannot choose seats, I would not have purchased these tickets. I tried to find another US air flight that's not Airbus, thinking I'll just pay the change fee, but there's nothing available at a decent time.

Any advice appreciated.

that is true because all dca to bos flights are shuttle flight and they assign seat on the day of flight when you check-in the same would be true through lga

Hi! I have much experience with US Airways, my husband logs a ton of miles with them. Their customer service is spotty at best, I would call back and ask again. It is possibly one of two things-you may have a seat assigned but can't see it on their website (it is just a computer glitch, their website is horrible!) Or, it may be a flight that is close to full-a percentage of seats may be held back, and assigned at the airport. I'm sure there are other reasons, but we have experienced both of those. My husband flies mostly commuter flights around the northeast-and on 100% of those flights, seat assignment worked the same way as other flights. So you may have to push the issue with the CSR to find out the truth...either way-I'm sure it can be resolved. Good luck, and let me know if I can assist further.

Just wanted to clarify...I am not disagreeing with airline2, we posted at about the same time. My husband has never flown the BOS-DCA route...so we have no direct experience with that one. Most other commuter routes are assigned seating, but much smaller 'short hop' jets. HTH
