:yay:Hi I am looking for flights from the UK to Orlando for October this year and we have normally booked before now and now struggling to get a good price with Virgin as they are so expensive! We can get a good price with US Airways and flew quite a few years with them with no problems but we had an infant do had the bulkhead seats booked but my friends flew a couple of years ago with them and when they checked in the whole family was seated separately across the plane? My kids are 4 and 7 and there's no way they will seat away from me and my husband and I don't want the hassle swapping seats on the plane? Anyone had this problem as I've tried to search it online and need some current info! Hope someone can help x

When you make your reservation, you choose your seats from the available seats on the chart. But sometimes there are equipment changes and people have to be reseated and there are not always seats together. This can happen with any airline (except Southwest who does not have assigned seats).

I've flown US Air with good luck, including overseas. Be sure and pick your seats. I check my seats periodically, especially as we get closer to departure to be sure we stay together. Call the airline if your family gets separated and you can't rearrange yourself. Explain the situation and see what happens. I have spoken to supervisors to be sure my family is seated together. Be polite but firm. :)

If you pick seats together they will stick as long as there is no equipment or minor schedule change. You should check on the reservation monthly until the final month, and then weekly, to make sure that your seat assignments have not changed. If they have, try to change them back, and if that does not work, call customer Service.

We just flew US Airways in April. We choose our seats. Just remember to do that when purchasing. Don't choose an ER exit, though I don't think the computer will allow anyway when traveling with children.
