Well it is Thursday. This is our MGM day. Now MGM is their favorite park. They Loooove it here. So I think, this should be another pain free day. YES! We are up early and consume all that "Yummy" HIFS breakfast "food" and we are off. SIL took a while getting ready so we get there a few minutes after they drop the rope. Did I mention she was single??? We head right for the TofT which already has a 40 minute wait. I assume it is because of he initial stream of people, so we hop in line to the R&RRC. Now I did not realize that you had to be 48" to ride. Maybe because I am more that 48 " tall, not much, but taller. So we get in line and a CM pulls us over to a fancy measuring device(a metal yard stick). DD's ponytail scrunchy hits the bar so we are let in line. This get DD's souvie craving brain going. Is this scary? Can I get a bribe? ESPN man starts taking about Tampa Bay's hockey team. (Hockey ? in Florida???) Now after the Red Wings were eliminated from the playoffs, my hockey brain was turned off until next year. So I didn't realize that the hockey season was not over. ESPN man starts giving me stats and talking about people I never heard of . My head starts spinning.. This attracts the attention of an apparent hockey lover in line, I call him ESPN 2. They converse all the way to the record studio, so ESPN man is in heaven. The man actually tells me that my son is well educated in all sports and should be a broadcaster when he grows up. I think great, all that private school for nothing. Well, at least Scipps Howard Broadcasting School is cheaper than Michigan State.
Anyway, I digress...
We get further along in line, and DD has to get measured again and she passes, again!! Yeah, we have graduated to no switch off , Yeah!!! We ride and can I say? It is a cool ride. Now I am old, so I use the word cool.. If you are younger, substitute the appropriate excalmatory adjective.
We get fast passes to ride again and SIL and the boys go off to the T of T . DD and I are off to Bear and the Big Blue House, which was full, so we go to millionare. I win a million, not!
After we are done , we meet back up and DH tells me this story. It is second hand mind you. Ladies man has this name from previous encounters with pretty ladies. When he was a baby, I had him in one of the shopping cart car seats. We were in the shampoo aisle and there were 3 pretty girls choosing shampoo. He started to coo until the girls paid attention to him. They admired his cuteness and he smiled for the girls. So he was like that from birth.
Anyway, he was kind of scared to go on T of T but he didn't want his Aunt Kathy to know. So he got in line with them . Apparently he met a cute little girl his age and they flirted with each other all the way until they rode. She took away his fear. Isn't that cute? He came off and told me her whole life story, like they had been friends since preschool....
We are off to The Little Mermaid show. Now, we get there just a little bit early and they corral us in this little room. It is HOT and you can hardly feel the air. It starts, the whining. Where is ESPN 2 when you need him. Help!! I start to feel water squirted on me. I turn around and let them have it. They should keep their water bottles to themselves, but then I realize, they didn't bring water bottles. It was the kid next to me. His father apologizes to me but I tell him it is alright, they would have needed scolding for something else later. I am a mean mom and I need to do it often to keep them on the straight and narrow. We file into the show and of coarse some people want to stop in the middle of the row to get the best seat. Now I didn't tell you , when we were at Philharmagic, some people tried to do the same thing. The CM tried to get them to move , I just stood there and stared at them until they moved. The CMs in the booth were making cat fight sounds as the people were being coaxed to move. It was funny! Anyway, since I had been trained already from Mickey's when the people stopped in the middle, I just let them have it. Remember, I am a mean mom. They moved.. We watched the show. It is one of my favorites. We head back to R&RRC to use our fastpasses. Then to the Beauty and the Beast Show. The complaining starts but I don't hear it. I am going to see Belle. I had never seen the show. We went in early to get good seats. I got the kids Mickey bars for bribes and they were ok until they were finished. Did I say it was hot and humid? I have not felt that kind of humidity in years. It rained while we were in the show, which cooled it off a little. We headed to Muppets 3 D, then Star Tours , which made SIL sick and ladies man lost his sun glasses. After that we head to Indiana Jones. Did I mention that the camera was back. Oh yes, in all its glory. DH took a million pictures. He was soooo happy. I even let the boys take some pictures with my Kodak. After the show, ladies man got Indie and Marion's autograph and he even got pictures with them. We also saw that movie ride. Lame, lame , lame. Again substitute whichever word fits your age bracket. DH lost one of his lens hoods for his camera. We must of looked for that thing forever. No luck, tried lost and found and everything. We try to do the Studio tour but they cancel the bus part of it citing rain and potential lawsuits. Again, lame , lame , lame. We sat down to get some dinner and it starts to rain, and rain, and rain, and rain. After it stopped we headed to Fantasmic. It starts to rain again and it is cancelled. That is the second time that we miss Fantasmic. Will we ever get to see it???? Tune in next time...
