Day one of our 9 day adventure started off relatively well. We got up on time (First trip we booked a 6 am flight and got up at 5AM, airport was an hour away. We made it due to all the NASCAR my husband watches ) In-laws (or outlaws, as we call them at our house) were staying with us all week. DD had graduated from kindergarten, so they were in town. The problem was, we all got the stomach flu. We had been sick all week. I was lucky my MIL is a laundry addicit and she did all my laundry. I did not have time to do all my anal planning. So all the days itineraries, I did the night before. Of course, I stayed up until midnight to check in at Southwest. I was tired as result, but I got A passes, so we were doing good. I got a dog kennel close to the airport, so we could drop the dog off on the way. This was a big deal for my DH because he always insisted that we use the same kennel my four legged baby has used since day one. Unfortunately, we moved in his lifetime and now it is an 80 mile round trip. No, I am not kidding. I had to interview the new kennel and everything. So he met the new kennel owners in the morning, dropped off our baby, had breakfast at Burger King. DH wanted BK not McDonalds so we had to drive around and find one. Parking lot van dropped us off a the Southwest curbside check in , we checked in an were through security with a hour and a half before our flight. Detroit has very decent security, I have never been in line more than a few minutes. We had a connection at Midway, I had to check at the RAPID Checkin machine thingy but still got A passes. Finally we got to MCO at 4:30 PM. Our luggage actually made it , we picked it up and headed out to pick out our van at National. My kids asked why we were not stopping to wait in the 3 mile long Alamo line like last year. I smiled and said that we had Emerald Reserve and you don't wait for that. My middle child asked why those people don't have ER and I said . They don't have 63,000 friends on the Disboards. LOL
Well we found a Grand Caravan, climbed in and headed for Circuit City. Yes, not HIFS, Circuit City. Remember , my DH is an avid photographer and he needed another tripod. The one he had wasn't compact enough. He had addresses of all the CCs in Orlando, but no maps. I tried to fiqure out where one was, but failed. But I grabbed my trusty cell phone (after an hour) and called for directions. We finally got to the hotel at 6:30. I barely got a chance to change for chef mickey's. Chef Mickey's was funnnnn! I really enjoyed the food. (Maybe because we were sick all week and hadn't really eaten) We went up to the top of the Contemporary to see WISHES. Can I say, I could have gone home after that. It was spectacular. We got to bed at 11 PM .
