A couple of weeks ago I listed some abercrombie shorts that oldest DS had outgrown. I didn't do fantastic but still made a little money. Well, the woman who bought the shorts was a little pushy. "I need the shorts by the end of the week..." etc., mind you the auction end on Monday night. It's a busy time of year but I got them out Priority w/in two days. So today, two weeks later, she sends an e-mail can you please update me on when these will be shipped. Okay you needed them by Friday but waited two weeks to check on them and I sent you an e-mail that I had shipped them. :confused3

Well, I go online and check my delivery confirmation and according to USPS they were delivered two days after I shipped them.

I have a really strong feeling she's going to try to claim she never got them/I never shipped them and I'm going to have to argue with Paypal and ebay to keep my money. :headache:

This is not the first time this has happened but it's such a pain. And with the delivery confirmation and rising postage prices I paid out more than I put in for the shipping charges. :sad2:

As long as the delivery confirmation shows the package was delivered you will be ok with ebay and paypal

Yes, that is exactly why I always use delivery confirmation too. So sad we have to protect ourselves like that but it is what it is.

I definitely understand your frustration.
I used to sell a fair amount of outgrown kids clothes, as well as dance and gymnastics leos, on e-bay. I've decided it's just not worth it for me anymore though.

Hopefully when your difficult buyer realizes you have proof of delivery, the shorts will turn up and you won't hear from her again.

Good Luck, and let us know how it turns out.

I just had an experience where I used delivery confirmation and the recipient (this was personal mail not eBay stuff) still has not gotten the package. However Delivery confirmation states that it was delivered. Which means either someone else claimed the package or it was scanned and never delivered. The post office can't seem to give any good explanation for this. That being said, Delivery Confirmation proves accurate delivery 99% of the time. ETA this was to be delivered to a PO Box so it isn't an issue of it being set on a porch and stolen the package should have never left the PO except with the addressed recipient.

Had this happen to me a few years back. Only it was a MONTH later! :headache:

I kept detailed records in a spiral bound notebook, thank goodness! I emailed the buyer the delivery confirmation proof and put the responsibility of 'finding' the package on her since it was delivered to her house. (Had been delivered 3 days after she paid)

Never heard another peep.

I always thought it was a scam. After a month who remembers?

I don't use eBay anymore to shop or sell things. It just isn't worth the hassle.

I either pass on the clothes to people that can use them or I just donate to Goodwill.

On Paypal's website, it looks like delivery confirmation is no longer enough to protect the seller. From what I gather, you need signature confirmation.

I had this happen as a buyer. I was shipped something, received the DC#, checked it after a week and it said it had been delivered but I didn't get it......I contacted the seller, she put a tracker on it but was told the same thing, it was delivered, but it was not delivered...I wasn't trying to scam her, I absolutely did NOT have it.....we waited another week and then we started talking about replacement and cost, I believed she had shipped it, she believed I didn't have it so we were trying to work together to resolve it. And right as we are working out the package is delivered........so it may not be her fault, I know that 99% of the time is it their fault but not always. :)

And yes, eBay & Paypal will side with you if you have a DC saying it was delivered. :)

I e-mailed the buyer with the DC# and details from the USPS and I've heard nothing more so I have a feeling she was trying to scam me.

But then what do I know. Could be she really didn't have it. But as mentioned by PP above the item was sent to a PO box so it could be it was floating around the PO somewhere and they didn't find it until she requested it.

I sold a broken item last week, the buyer comlpained that the item broke in shipping. I was very clear that the item was broken. He threatened to file and I could not afford the hold on my PayPal so I refunded part of the money but I was ticked. Plus I am going out of town and don't plan on waiting around everyday to respond to PayPal emails.

I used to sell things like this on Ebay. I had someone try to say that my things were less than what she thought. Another seller contacted me saying that she was doing the same thing. Combine this with the fees going through the roof and the premium postings not staying on the first page but floating to the page your listing is on, I moved to Etsy.com

I don't sell, but I buy on ebay & can tell you that there were 2 times out of the many times that I have purchased where I didn't get my items. There weren't even tracking numbers or anything to go by. One of the items were a pair of sunglasses. Pay-pal was not going to refund me my money since it wasn't over a certain amount & they could not get in touch with the seller (he closed his account). I called my credit card company & they refunded me the money. They did a charge back to pay-pal. Pay-pal contacted me & told me if I were to do that again with my credit card company, they will terminate my account:rolleyes1 I told them if they were to not refund me my money on something that I didn't receive & the seller's accounted ended up closed, they wouldn't have to close my account, I would close it for them & never use them again.. So far, so good.. now I keep my fingers crossed I am not jinxing myself.. I am waiting on some things to arrive... ;)
