I have been able to use my airmiles to book a half term holiday in WDW for myself and my son next February. But we have to pay for my husband and baby as they have no air miles. I have a ticket on hold with Virgin until 6pm tonight and must decide by then whether or not to go as they are asking for full payment immediately. Our dates for travel are 14 February to 24 February. Now I realise that this is half term holiday in the UK. But I was hoping it would be relatively quiet in the USA. However looking on a relevant website I have just found that this is considered the beginning of 'peak' season for the WDW resorts. Does anyone know if this is a particularly busy time in WDW? If so, I would rather cancel and go at a quieter time. But as I said, I need to decide before 6pm tonight as the airlines are pretty full with UK holiday travellers and won't hold any unpaid tickets. Any advice appreciated.

Hi kiwisue

I know this is not exactly what you want, but try asking the same question on the American site.

Regards

Darryl

ps Any time is a good time to go to Disney:D

A lot of UK people travel in Feb and I think it is supposed to be a pretty good time to go. I think Presidents weekend (17th?) get's pretty busy, but otherwise it should be ok.

The week of February 14 is President's Week, which has a federal holiday (bank holiday) on Monday. According to my Passporter, attendence does spike during that week to approximately May levels, however, it drops sharply for the following week. I've never been to the parks at that time. Maybe you'll get some more feedback.

If you PM your e-mail I could scan the chart from my passporter for you and send it to you.

Hi we travel out on the 14th Feb with Virgin, it is busy in the parks that week (or certainly the early part) but the parks are open longer hours with parades and fireworks most days. We go every year that week as we love it , however I think in 2004 we will go the week earlier and stay onsite and get cheaper rates and go to our timeshare the 2nd week.

Sue, our first time was the last two weeks in February and we didn't notice any great problems. As Mo said it's a great time of year to visit as the hours are longer and there seems to be more show/parades on offer every night, as aopposed to just weekends at other times.

The weather can be changeable and it gets chilly early mornin and at night when the sun goes down.

If you take up yer bookin, I'm sure you'll have a great time. And we get there March 1st, so you'll just escape !

Just wanted to put my two pennyworth in....

We always go for the February half term week. As long as you avoid the WDW parks for the first couple of days of Presidents week (17-20th Feb) you shouldn't have any problems. The American holiday is only on Monday so alot of Americans visit the area for a long weekend. They are mostly all gone by Wednesday/Thursday and things settle down to be fairly quiet -
Good planning is the key here.

As Scotfan says, there are more parades/fireworks that week too.

Just remember to pack a fleece for the chillier nights and you will be fine.

Let us know what you decide.
